As in, what do you apply day to day to moisturise?

I need to apply something constantly to avoid dry lips.

Lansinoh. From boots. Amazing stuff

CoxwellHuge · 11/10/2018 21:55

O'keefes, little orange lip balm. It's been absolutely brilliant on my lips, even through the summer with constant air conditioning. Normally my lips are terrible but this one really works for me.

Lottapianos · 11/10/2018 22:32

Nuxe lip balm. The best ever

dontticklethetoad · 11/10/2018 22:33

Another one for lansinoh. I couldn't be without it.

Theknacktoflying · 11/10/2018 22:35

eek ... doesn’t lip balm add to the dryness?
L’occitane shea butter balm works for me ...

missmapp · 11/10/2018 22:40

Burt's bees. Great stuff

Or kahl's if I am feeling flush

Sarcelle · 11/10/2018 22:42

Nude, the one in the pot.

Carmex, if economising, the one in the pot.

missmapp · 11/10/2018 22:42

Kohl' s even

Sarcelle · 11/10/2018 22:43

Nuxe, not Nude.

I’m an absolute lip balm/cream/oil obsessive and have used everything. Literally everything!

Complete game changer was using up some hyaluronic acid on my lips, haven’t had a hint of dry/cracked lips since.

I still apply lip balm throughout the day but need it less and previously I would still get periods of dry or cracked lips despite constantly applying.

So what I do now is dab on a bit of water so my lips are slightly damp, pat in a drop of hyaluronic acid, give it 10 seconds or so until it’s almost but not quite dried in then apply lip balm. I do that once in the morning and once at night.

I don’t think it matters too much which balm you use after, it’s just about sealing it in - I use Carmex.

User5trillion · 11/10/2018 22:55

I suffer terribly. Last year I ended up at the pharmacists as they were so dry, cracked and flakey. She recommended body shop hemp lip balm, amazing stuff. This year I am trying burts bees lipbalm.

WhyAreWeddingsSoAwks · 11/10/2018 22:58

Nuxe - Reve De Miel Grin

Absolutely love it!!! Cheap but incredible!

I got it on Cult Beauty (along with lots of other nice potions!)

EyeDrops · 11/10/2018 23:06

Carmex is the best I've used.

MissMarplesKnitting · 11/10/2018 23:09

Dr PawPaw. Best stuff ever. I've used carmex, lansinoh (gave me round the mouth zits) but this and loccitane Shea butter are the best I've found at maintenance.

If they're split then blisteze in the metal tube.

IWouldLikeToKnow · 12/10/2018 00:00

Nuxe is fantastic. One application makes a difference

FloofyDoof · 12/10/2018 00:03

Nuxe in the jar, there's a new ultra nourishing version out that I keep meaning to pick up, but using the normal one at the moment. I use it on it's own in the day, and at night I put a layer of squalane oil on, let it absorb and then put a thick layer of the Nuxe on. Works wonders.

Elledorado · 12/10/2018 09:13

Dermal Therapy is the absolute best thing ever. Not sure if you can get in the UK though sorry!!

StrawberryFilter · 12/10/2018 09:36

Another vote for Paw Paw ointment - my lips get in a terrible state if I'm using petroleum based products too much (Carmex is the worst). Paw paw is the only thing that brings them back to normal!

Sitranced · 12/10/2018 09:37

Malibu (the suncream) lipcare. spf 30 with uva/ubv protection and its water resistant. Loads of nice flavours and only 3 for £1:50ish in home bargins.

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 12/10/2018 21:31

Lansinoh

Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream. Best thing ever. I never go anywhere without it, it’s great on dry skin, skin irritations, cuts , minor burns, etc etc. Just about everything gets a smear of it.
There is a reason why it has been going , unchanged for 88 years .

It’s not cheap ( about £25) but it lasts for ages and is a must in my house and handbag.
I can’t recc9mend it highly enough.

herethereandeverywhere · 12/10/2018 21:48

La Mer lip balm. So pricey but the only one that doesn't add to the dryness.

alpaca44 · 12/10/2018 21:56

Burts Bees lip balm. I carry it everywhere with me. The pomegranate one is slightly tinted too which I love. Best lip balm I’ve ever had.

This stuff. My lips get so dry & cracked, especially at this time of year. This stuff sorts them right out in a matter of days. It's a bit freaky deaky when the dry skin starts peeling off though, a la sunburn!
