Another puffer jacket thread...

Looking for a very light but windproof and warm puffer jacket. Considering the Patagonia nano puff, but not terribly keen on the arms. Can anybody recommend alternatives, please? Prepared to spend £££ for the right coat so considering all options at the moment! Must have a hood. No black, navy ideal...

Thanks.

MaxMara has this jacket in navy: gb.weekendmaxmara.com/p-we5486078906001-boario-ultramarine The hood detaches, and so do the, er, sleeves. So you have a gilet as another option Smile

Or this gorgeous coat in navy, which is reversible: gb.weekendmaxmara.com/p-we5496038306006-duccio-ultramarine

Those sleeves are just odd! Or does the model just have very long arms? Either way is bulkier than I'm looking for but thanks.

I have a rab coat and it's great . Zara do nice ones if you want it to be less technical .

Oops hit post too soon! I have this Barbour one, very very light and so warm. Comes in other colours too...

Mountain Equipment Arête is really good.

Rab are really warm and do ok in the wet considering they are down, they do tend towards straight baffles and I liked the old beluga colour best.

Tempted by Montane for more contoured micro baffles as their down is also supposed to be good in the wet - not sure about the metal zips (Rabs are chunky plastic and coloured to blend or highly contrast)

Tried that Barbour Pebbles! Bit 'womanly' on me with its waist detail at the back. Although the sleeves are better than the Patagonia...

I also prefer smaller baffles (I've learnt a new word, thank you Member!) than the big long ones. Not sure if am being too picky but if I'm spending £200+ I kind of want it to be perfect...

Will check out Mountain Arête, Rab and Montane too, thanks.
