Is this coat warm enough?

Just bought this little coat online for my nearly 3 year old DD, it's described as being fleece material, and described as a coat rather than a 'cardigan' or 'jacket' which sounds as if it would be nice and warm? But at £11.60 I'm a bit dubious? Have I just bagged a bargain or is this little more than a fancy cardigan? Anyone else's DD have this coat, or came across it in store? I thought I'd give it a go anyway, might be alright for just nipping out in the car if it's not as warm as it looks.

My DD had a very similar one a couple of years ago. I'd say it's ok for Autumn...a nice alternative to a thicker coat but it's not going to see her through winter. It's more of a dress coat really. They're light and easy to wear so it was a fave for us but I did get my DD another coat which was more waterproof and padded. So in short, it's a fancy cardigan as you say.

See DD had something similar from Tesco a couple of years ago and that was nice and warm? Think that coat might have been wool though? I think you might be right, could be okay if we're out in the car then heading straight indoors somewhere. However I think I might also have to get her a padded waterwproof coat, for playing in the park/walks etc, sounds silly but although I know they're warmer and more practical I'm really not keen on how they look. I like something a little smarter with more structure, have been looking at duffle coats but they're so blooming expensive everywhere! Will keep my eyes peeled for a bargain, I like my DD to look nice but I hate paying over the odds for clothes she's only in for a few months

I find girls hard work to dress, i can’t just buy one coat and be done with it! Each winter I get my DD3 a fluffy gilet, smart coat like the one above and a wind proof waterproof etc for everyday use. Don’t get me started on shoes. Casual boots, smart boots, party shoes, wellies, trainers, snow boots...it’s neverending 🙈

It's a lovely coat but I think you will probably need a padded jacket for the winter months which is warmer and is shower resistant.

@kiabella I agree! Girls are hard work to dress. I have two nephews and they always look so tidy and smart in just a simple jumper and jeans. So much more complicated with girls. Although I have to say I do think you think cheaper shops I.e supermarkets/primark etc seem to sell far nicer stuff girls clothes than they do boys, so maybe girls are cheaper when it comes to clothes?

Aw I do actually quite like that @Yewtown love navy blues and reds as we get into the winter

To me that is a 'nice' coat for wearing to parties, out at the weekend visiting or what ever. You still need a cosy, waterproof padded jacket for every day and playing out in the winter.
