Interview outfit HELP!!!!!

Please help me . I have an important interview coming up and don’t know what to wear. I haven’t done an interview for about 8 years and wear a uniform to work so I feel out of my depth.
It’s for a senior professional role ( the actual job requires a unIform) I will be doing a presentation as part of the interview process.
What should I wear???
I am size 10 ; 5.7 pale English rose colouring ( so yep pale and pasty) winter shades.

Help where do I go shopping and what is the look to go for? Thinking a trip to John Lewis ?

What sort of company is the interview with? You might wear different things for a job at a bank than you would a media company, for example.

If possible, can you hang around near the place where the interview is at kicking out time and see what people wear there?

Generally, though, you can't go wrong with a smart skirt or trousers in a dark colour, teamed with a brighter shirt or jumper. I wouldn't say a suit jacket is necessary unless it's a very formal workplace.

I work in software. So developers are in jeans and trainers, managers are a bit smarter. I would wear a simple shift dress in a colour that suits you and either a long fitted cardigan that is open in a contrsting colour or a jacket. Plus shoes with a medium or low heel, never flats.
If trousers suit your shape better, then wear a crisp white shirt with a contrasting cardigan or jacket on top. Again, heels make you look pulled together and professional.
I personally would steer clear of dark or vivid nail polish, keep makeup and jewellery simple and understated.
That’s what I would wear anyway.

The job is NHS senior Nurse role so i will be interviewed by a panel some will be in the navy matron uniform and some none uniform I would guess.
I want to look very professional but also approachable.
I have done the black trouser suit in the past but it’s been a few years since I had a major interview so want to look up to date and on trend. ( I’m also older)

Be comfortable! Obviously not jimjams however I once attended an interview in a dress I personally felt was a little low cut but everyone told me otherwise - but on the day I felt so self conscious about it that it was really off putting! So yeah definitely stuff on and make sure you feel comfortable in it as well as looking smart. If you're uncomfortable it comes across as unsure or unconfident - and if you're focused on the outfit you won't be focused on the interview. :)

I would agree with Makari in all respects except for the shoes! I think there are some super-smart flats (brogues and loafers) around which would look great with trousers, and especially if you're going for a nursing role. Nurses don't teeter around in heels and it's important to be comfortable above all things.
