non-comedogenic moisturisers?

Anyone else with ridiculously blockable pores? What moisturiser do you use?

The range I've used for about 15 years (Bliss, moving between a succession of products) is no longer available in the UK. I can't think how many I tried before I found their stuff worked, and I stopped having spots all the time. It was ridiculous. Basically I established over years that just about every ingredient on the old comedogenicity lists online blocked my pores badly. Natural-based products always have as a major ingredient some natural oil that I know blocks them. The only current body lotion I've found that's half way okay is Yes To Carrots and even then I can only put that on the less blockage-prone areas of skin. I look at ingredients lists of something people say is great and then there's some old foe like isopropyl myristate high up the ingredients list and so it's not for me.

I do have some Bliss moisturisers I got on ebay but I'm not confident the seller hasn't messed about with them as the texture seems a bit different. My skin is still just oily enough that in the summer I get away without using moisturiser if I use honey as a cleanser, but I need it now in autumn and winter when it gets too dehydrated and dry from heating.

By my age my mum was just using Astral and Nivea and only got nose blackheads that rarely turned into spots, but I got a double dose of the acne and oily skin genes from both parents, so that is unfortunately not an option for me.

One of my best friends who I always used to share skincare woes with when we were younger is now into some incredibly complicated Korean stuff. I stopped keeping up with beauty news once I found my holy grail products, and it's like she's on a different planet I let years ago about these things. and in any case I don't have the energy or inclination for complex multi-product routines, nor do I like the consumerism involved. I just want one thing that works reasonably well. It's fine if my skin is okay rather than amazing.

I'm looking for recommendations and experiences from people who've had similar problems. (But if they're like me, they stop taking as much notice of beauty posts because they found something that works.) Articles are easy to find by googling. That one does look quite thorough though, even if it is American and some of the products not available over here.

I tried stuff from Avene and La Roche in the past and it wasn't very good (left skin greasy and still blocked pores slightly, just not as badly as a lot of other things) although they probably have some new products by now. There was a range Boots used to have in the early 00s which got taken over - and replaced with Avene - which worked well for me, but that's long gone. (Wikipedia still seems to be bad for these things; history of so many other types of product you could find on there these days and I can't remember what it was called now.)

The ebay Bliss moisturiser does at least work, it smells right and I don't react to it, so that will keep me going a while longer. Both that and the body lotion include shea butter, which is one that some sources recommend to be wary of, although I seem to be okay with it in this processed form. Olive oil is definitely a bad one for me, as is almond oil, which seems to be in most 'natural' beauty products.

Have you tried REN evercslm day cream. No idea about being Mon cimefogenic but it's not at all greasy but still softens and sooths my combination skin.

I rate Hydrasmooth from AlumierMD

Cetaphil is good for sensitive spot prone skin.

GoldenBuns · 26/09/2018 23:32

Clinique Moisture Surge. I had a terrible bout of adult acne in my 30s. This is the only moisturiser that I can use.

Biologifemini · 27/09/2018 06:25

Eucerin 5% urea and grape seed oil ?
I also have easily blocked pores.
Neutrogena pink face wash is the best as it contains salicylic acid and sls.
