Whats the best coverage foundation you have bought from somewhere like Boots or Superdrug?
Ive tried so many but none seem to hide my inperfect skin/pores 😪

Have you tried a pore perfecting primer, such as Benefit Porefessional (there are cheaper versions, I just can't think of any at the moment)?
I've found that using a tiny amount, tapping it only to areas where I have larger pores (rather than all over the face) really helps.

If you're looking for great coverage, then I really recommend Estee Lauder Double Wear. I've found they are very generous with samples before buying.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear 24 h is also good.

I've heard good things about the Revolution Conceal and Define foundation as well - I haven't tried it myself though (the concealer is pretty good IMO though): www.superdrug.com/Makeup-Revolution/Revolution-Conceal-and-Define-Foundation-F1/p/768749

I do think that it all depends on skin type (and being able to find the right shade of foundation), so what works for me may not work for you. But if you can get samples before buying, then at least you will not be wasting your money.

Thanks yes ive tried the benefit a few years ago, maybe i need to try again. Last time i used the Estee Lauder counter at my locL Boots, she made me feel awful no interest in helping at all! Even though i did purchase the double wear, i found it too heavy for me sadly.

If by Boots and Superdrug you mean more budget brands (rather than the large Boots who sell all the top brands) then I can really recommend Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. I like a good coverage but as I've got older, the full coverage was looking too "flat" on me (even with a glow primer and/or highlighter on top). Also the full coverage foundations are far harder to match skin tone, they really have to be an exact match and even when they are, it can give a mask effect. Sigh. For the last few years I have worn Clarins Everlasting, Chanel and most recently Dior Foreverskin (I am prepared to pay for a good base!) but was finding myself disappointed with the results. I've also tried Armani, Estee Lauder Double wear and then Rimmel Wake Up, etc etc. A lot basically.

Anyway, the Healthy Mix was an impulse purchase when on holiday and my goodness do I like it. It's got good coverage, isn't heavy at all on the skin and blends and touches up well, and for me, the colour range is perfect. I'm a light beige/pale olive skin tone with yellow undertones and found the No. 54 great for everyday and the No.55 when I've a hint of a tan. (this is just for reference for anyone else reading who might have similar skin tone).

It's around £9.99 but 3 for 2 offer means it can be cheaper. I think it performs brilliantly for the price and it lasts a fair amount of time.

^PS if you're looking for more expensive brands then I loved the texture of the full coverage Dior Foreverskin (but sadly was between two shades and mixing them didn't produce the right shade either). Didn't get on with Double Wear at all, again, shade not right. Chanel oxidised on my skin. The Clarins Everlasting was a good standby for years but on me personally, after a while it did look a little powdery and settled awkwardly in my under-eye lines even when applied with a sponge or a brush. Also it wore off patchily (on me) or perhaps with the full coverage foundations, it's just more obvious where it's been worn away. I do touch my face a lot, blow nose, rub forehead in exasperation etc throughout the day Smile. But for the first 4 hours it was good, so for an evening event for example it worked well for me.

L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover is amazing. You only need a tiny amount or it looks like a mask, but the coverage is fantastic.

Stringofpearls · 25/09/2018 12:15

I don't have the best skin but have found Boots no 7 Stay Perfect makes my skin look clear but without being heavy or cakey.

OnebusyMum · 25/09/2018 12:31

RiskIt4Biscuit the reviewa of the superdrug one look really good. I have the Healthy Mix one SundayGirls im not overally impressed with the coverage for me personally.

Love no7 stay perfect, also maybelline fit me matte and poreless.
Both great foundations, that will last all day with a primer.
Both are buildable, but don't look cakey.

HouseOfGoldandBones · 25/09/2018 12:38

No 7 Stay Perfect is always the one I go back to.

It is very buildable, and never had any issues with my very sensitive skin

CalonGlas · 25/09/2018 12:42

This GOSH Foundation+ looks like a repackage of one I bought last year - it's very high coverage if you need it. I only used a tiny amount with a brush and it really covered up my redness well.

Changedforpost · 25/09/2018 12:44

Revlon colorstay and makeup revolution primer

OnebusyMum · 25/09/2018 13:28

I might go and get a sample of the Boots one. Thanks
