Please tell me about your skincare regime...

I don't have a clue what I'm doing!!

I'm in my 30s, I only ever wear eye liner and mascara (and that's not often anyway), I put cream on my face after I shower.

What should I be doing and when?

Please tell me what you do and what products you use

What are your skincare concerns? What type of skin do you have? A basic routine would involve a cleanser (I find cleansing balms most effective), some kind of toner (acid toner for example), a serum and moisturiser.

Thanks for your reply @mrslebon

I have no idea what skin type... I didn't know there were skin types!!

I guess it gets a bit dry in winter maybe?!

Broadly speaking, the main types are oily, dry or combination. Sounds like you might get a bit dehydrated in winter which is quite common with central heating etc. What are you currently using to remove your mascara and eyeliner? I would recommend an eye make up remover such as the Simple one. Then I'd recommend a cleanser of some description. I can only talk about my experience but hot cloth cleansers are really good. Superdrug do one which is inexpensive - you simply massage it into your skin and then wipe it off with a damp warm flannel. You may not need a toner and I'd caution against introducing loads of products at a time so see how you get on with a cleanser. Then once you've cleansed, you can use a serum (again, Superdrug do a good hydrating serum which is inexpensive) and then a moisturiser. The B range in Superdrug is good because it's done by age so there's a moisturiser for people in their 30s for example. I don't work for Superdrug by the way! I'm just recommending inexpensive but good products. Are you worried about fine lines or anti ageing in general? If so, look for a moisturiser that tackles that and may contain retinol which is a good anti-ageing ingredient. I could go on forever but best to start with basics and work up from there!

@mrslebon I use the simple eye remover wipe things!

You are so helpful thank you so much!! Haha I will check out the superdrug stuff!! I'm reluctant to try to change too much too quickly as I can get quite bad rashes! It took me ages to find a face cream that didn't upset my face too much.

I guess I just figured it's time to start worrying about what's going to happen to my skin as I get older!!
