More spotty than a teenager!!

I was lucky as a teenager actually, I only very occasionally got the odd easy to deal with spot.

I'm now I'm my early 30s and my face is full of them!! It started a few months ago but it's getting worse. Nothing has changed in my diet and I have a meticulous skin care regime .

Why have I got so many spots at my age?! They are sore and Unslightly, and really getting me down. I'm on no hormonal contraceptive, stress levels are probably average for having 2 young children and a job, I live in a low pollution town.

I stopped breastfeeding my youngest a couple months ago, could it be related? Just thinking about hormones. Although,it never happened when I finished feeding my eldest 🤷‍♀️

Help!!!

Excuse my typos. Wine is to blame.

Definitely 2 litres of water a day. That is a big help.

SleepForTheWeak · 22/09/2018 22:59

@itchybumhole I love your name 😂. I'm also on the wine - it's a Saturday after all 🤷‍♀️

Also up with a teething 15 month old 🙄

I've taken a picture of my worst side, I do use make up during the day to cover them but I suppose that's a vicious cycle. The make up I use is gentle (Tropic) and has never bothered my skin before.

Its really getting to me, it's not something I thought I would have to worry about in my 30s

It's really not too bad my love. Try not to let it get to you, although I know it's hard.
Start with the water drinking asap. I have a 2 litre bottle of Tesco Ashfield or whatever it's called next to the kettle every day and when I think I need a coffee or something I just have a massive glug of water.
Think about what you're eating (for some people there are triggers), and my skin loves oily fish like mackerel and nuts.

And regardless of whether it's hormones or not, certain creams WILL help. Panoxyl works by stopping the production of sebum (which blocks the pores and causes comedones) and also oxygenating the infected pore so that it heals faster. Honestly... I've done my research and tried it all. I'm so mad that they stopped making this cream. It's hands down the most valuable item in my skincare kit. Just now I have to pay £££ for it.

Ooh, one more thing. Can't you tell I'm passionate about helping fellow acne sufferers?

Make sure your bedding is clean. I know it's so obvious and could be taken as an offensive statement, which is not my intention at all. Bin your pillows and buy new. Wash your bedding twice a week. Germs are your enemy in the fight against acne.

I'd give the booze up, it's very inflammatory and high in sugar.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/09/2018 16:30

1st cup of spearmint tea drunk.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/09/2018 09:03

My skin is much less oily now. I have two cups of spearmint tea a day, morning and night.
