School run shoes for grown ups

So DD1 has just started reception and we have a 20 min walk to get there. I do this walk 4 times a day plus I have DD2 who is 7 weeks old and I intend to do extra walks to get rid of the pregnancy chub.

I was looking at getting a pair of walking shoes as they are waterproof but they are seriously ugly. Can a stylish but waterproof pair of shoes exist?! They don't necessarily need to be specific walking shoes but ideally they would be waterproof because, you know, UK weather.

Hit me with your suggestions. I have about £100 to spend and happy to spend it all on one pair of shoes or split it between two pairs if my dream of comfortable, stylish, waterproof school run shoes don't exist.

Unless you're going on tracks and through mud then I'd get some nice trainers.
I walk 6 miles + a day in my Nikes and with the exception of rare torrential rain then they're perfect.

Good trainers.

But, I walk a couple of mikes a day to and from work, with nursery walks and trips to the shops etc as I do not drive. Get walki g boots for winter. They are absolutely unstylish but in heavy rain, snow or ice you will be so happy with them. Dry and warm feet abd grip in snow and ice. I habe cartied a toddler while pregnant and walked with a toddler and baby in sling/ pushchair on icy pavements, confident that I would not slip over in my good walking boots.

I have done all that walking but apparently can't spell... Grin. I am supervising a toddler at the same time!

Second the trainers.

Get a decent pair (Nike, New Balance etc..). Mine are so comfy, I can walk (and run) miles in them. And they never get wet.

Ah, yes. You You need something different for icy days. I've got some deeply naff thermal lined boots from TK Maxx for those sub-zero days.
