Smokers wrinkles around mouth

Ex smoker but avid elec smoker. I now have lines around my mouth when I talk or pout... can anything help with this? Over the counter stuff?

I’m only mid 30s 😕

Just to add, I don’t often pout, I’m not a selfie taker... i would have noticed how bad the wrinkles were years ago if I was!

I think you already know the answer. I have the beginings of a cat's bum mouth, but I am nearly 60, and have never smoked or vaped.

I would be interested if there is anything to reduce the lines though, so bumping for you.

Yeah, cats bum mouth! That’s me 😭

I don't have lines around my mouth, but did have a couple either side. I have had great results with L'Oreal Hylauronic acid and L'Oreal Revitalift products. Truly, I can hardly see them after six weeks.
(Laser Renew and Filler Renew), I also use their SPF 30 moisturiser.

If you are prepared to go down this route, you could perhaps find a reputable dermatologist and ask them about fillers?

Hemlock2013 · 11/09/2018 08:08

I’m hoping to avoid the filler route, starting at this age seems like a road to nowhere. Have ordered some retinol and vit c stuff. Hopefully that will make a difference

SPF of factor 30 religiously, and not just one in make up or moisturiser, and make sure it's blocking UVA too. Lip balm with SPF too that you can apply every couple of hours. I use Moo Goo but it's only factor 15 unfortunately.

These are essential if you're going to be using retinol!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 11/09/2018 19:22

I suggest you put the Retinol on before bed, not in the daytime. As suggested, you must use SPF30 to protect your skin.

A few lines are no problem once you are not smoking ciggies anymore I think! Sun protection is a key factor too though. Even here!

No one really cares except you, everyone else is far too busy exploring their own lines/wrinkles.

I have a few around my eyes but I don't care anymore. Ageing gracefully now and I will wear purple soon (that's a poem by Jenny Joseph BTW) barbados.org/poetry/wheniam.htm

You are very young yet. Just enjoy life and a smoke free existence. Well done on giving up the evil fags.

Hemlock2013 · 12/09/2018 06:58

Yeah you’re right, I want really to just not care.

V difficult to treat these smoker's lines. Heavy duty laser. And even then the results are varied.

Alternatively, SPF daily and cultivate the not wanting to care!
