So I've bought this dress to wear to a swanky party this coming Saturday. Originally I planned to wear a pair of sling back, peep toe bronze shoes. Now I'm not sure if I should be wearing more of a boot/shoe or a solid shoe as the weather is feeling a bit more autumnal. I'm 61 and want to make sure that I don't look frumpy. The dress looks lovely on and I plan to wear my hair up in a 'messy bun' style. What do you think? TIA

I think it's lovely. Personally as it's a swanky party I'd go shoe Not boot. The slingback sounds good to me ( and I'm 60!)

If you have to walk miles in the rain, just change shoes when you get there

Messy bun plus that dress is more hippy than swanky. I don't dislike it, but it's going to be difficult to dress it up.

Thanks.
When I say swanky - I don't mean 'black tie' kind of swanky I mean more 'hip trendy' swanky. the more you say swanky the weirder the word is...Grin I don't have to walk far just from the car to the venue.

I'll try on the options and go from there. Thanks for taking the time to comment though.

BTW the dress looks better on than off.
