Dr Martens - any good for wide feet?

Just what it says. I struggle finding comfortable shoes and have one very wide foot. Some Gabor are OK but apart from my thong sandals and Brooks running shoes I am stuck. I need a closed toe, leather shoe for work this winter and I'm getting desperate. Please dont suggest Hotter - I just can't!!

Yes, i think so. i have narrow feet and find normal DMs too wide, although the chelsea boots I have fit me well. They can be an absolute bugger to break in but super comfortable after a period.

Thanks - I may give them a try then. Any other experiences

I have fairly average width feet and my DM Chelsea boots pinch my little toes slightly on the side. They've taken two years of occasional wear to break in, because every time I wear them, my feet are torn to shreds. It's a shame, because they look great!

Maybe the proper shoes are better. Dds friend had a pair of gorgeous dm boots which are really lovely and soft. I'm sure they'd be fine.

How about kickers? They've done some nice Mary Jane type styles.

Have you tried Ecco? I have quite wide feet (fortunately both the same width, it must be awkward to have only one wider than the other) and they are often a good bet for me.

you have to try them on. I have quite wide, natural shaped feet and I get on well with DMs usually. Theyre one of the very few shoes I find both comfortable and hard wearing, but I cant seem to buy them online as they dont always seem as consistently sized as they used to back in the day, so I always go and try on in a shop and buy there

I have very very wide feet (think Hobbitt Grin) and I wear DMs but don’t find that their more “feminine” range fit so have more unisex ones x

I've wide feet and no problems with the laced boots, they're so comfy I live in them in winter.

Thanks - I have tried Ecco and they don't work for me. Interesting on the unisex ones. I have quite small feet so may get on with the boys range?
I'll also have a look at Kickers

I have the feet of a hobbit (not hairy though). They are an H width. I live in DMs and they’re perfect. In fact I went straight from school shoes into DMs and I wonder if this is why my fit are so wide as they’ve never been squeezed into a fashion shoe.

I have wide feet - the Pascal boots were so narrow I couldn't even get my foot in them. Haven't tried he classic style yet - they were fine when I was a teenager but am planning on trying on a pair in the shop. Don't prefer online! Customer service is appalling and returns are very very slow. Took 3 weeks to get a refund.

*dont order online

M&S online, select the wide fit option. Not the cheapest but very affordable.
