Knee high boots for wide calves

slummymummy35 · 06/09/2018 22:22

Hi, looking for your recommendations on knee high boots please. I have huge calves and I struggle so much to get comfy flattering knee high boots. I would like a casual pair and a heeled pair for work. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks

My calves are 43 and 44 cms.
Nightmare.
I bought a pair from deichmann last year..leather, knee high flat. Very good £60.
I have used Evans (but the foot part is too wide..I've got wide calves, my feet are standard width) and Duo...but they're too pricey now.

Gabor do some classic wide calf styles

WeeM · 06/09/2018 22:27

I feel your pain! Next do wide calf boots but the ones I’ve tried haven’t fitted me right on the ankle...I hate when it goes all baggy. and there is a site called Duo Boots-I’ve never bought anything but looked a lot!

Duo boots, they do a HUGE number of calf sizes and the boots are lovely and well made, I've been a fan for, what, 10 years now (despite the dodgy rebranding and changing back!), I even got married in a pair of their boots!!!

I'm going to have to buy a new pair this year from duo as I've lost some weight but still chunky of calf. To be fair, my last pair have lasted me for about 7 years so I think the investment pays off ...

Thanks everyone! I've been lusting after a few pairs on the duo site and have been nervous because of the expense. Do they do returns? I'll wear them to death if they fit me correctly but nervous of getting the sizing wrong!!! Thanks all xxx

Last time I ordered they did. I think they have a shop in bath with all the styles and sizes and country them on and then they send them to you. I daren't go as I'd come back with about 5 pairs!

Clarks Mint TREAT gortex boots fit a wide calf - there are some on eBay. They have a double gusset at the back. The foot bit isn’t baggy nor is the ankle. Extremely comfortable too. I have walked miles in mine.

evilharpy · 07/09/2018 07:12

Simply Be have some nice ones. I have massive calves (bigger than yours Kemer) and that’s whereI buy mine.

nordstrom · 07/09/2018 07:18

I have given up on this year's search. Instead I have gone for a long ankle boot. Even when I've found a knee high which fits, they are still quite unflattering.

Ankle boots are just as bad as I have white slim ankles so you get the 'ballooning' effect. Boots between the ankle and calf are a revelation to me!

TigerDroveAgain · 07/09/2018 07:23

Duo are great and I wear my boots constantly over the winter. I did prefer it when they had a store relatively near though as I find measuring at home a bit hit and miss

hammeringinmyhead · 07/09/2018 07:37

Duo definitely allow returns. I have loads of their ankle boots.

GrimDamnFanjo · 07/09/2018 08:00

I've just got the Katie boot from Simply Be. First boot I've ever had that's fitted me, I'd given up!
I'm a E in Clark's and wider in Simply B. The curvy calf size fitted me.

FlotSHAMnJetson
Thank you for posting that link, I've just ordered 2 pairs of boots!

GoldenHoops · 07/09/2018 12:19
