Foundation compacts

I was passing through Boots a few months back and spotted a Sleek "Creme to powder" foundation compact simply by chance. I thought, "yeah, that'd be a useful thing to have in my handbag" and bought it on a whim, having never used a creme to powder foundation before.

Turns out I LOVE IT!! Even more than my far more expensive liquid foundations. It's running out now and I'm looking to replace it, but not knowing much about the range of foundation compact available are there better ones out there? Now that I've experienced it I want to make sure the next one I get is a really good one, not that this one isn't lovely, I just think... why not??

This is the one I currently have www.boots.com/Sleek-MakeUP-Creme-to-Powder-Foundation-10243907. Anyone tried anything like this that you could recommend? I wouldn't mind spending a bit if it were worth the money, but as you can see I'm also no brand snob.

What's the coverage like? Is it thick? And do u use setting powder over the top or is it matt?

I use this one www.boots.com/max-factor-miracle-touch-foundation-10075749. You do need powder on top though, well I do but it's lovely on and coverage is buildable. So much quicker than liquid foundations too.

No, not really, it's buildable. You can get a good coverage (equivalent to my medium coverage liquid at least) with it. No powder on top, it's matt.

Thanks for the links people, I'll check them out! It really is soooo much quicker and easier, and much easier to refresh on the go than liquid.

I use the Chanel one that pp linked to above. It doesn't dry out my middle aged skin and gives a nice natural look

@RatRolyPoly I spent ages looking for one of these last year and gave up on the end... My 2 stipulations were that it had an inbuilt mirror and that it was actually my skin tone. Not a big ask you may think... But rangers were limited and I am mixed race British/Mexican and they were all too fair for me!

I like the Max Factor one too, leaves a really nice finish.

Depending on money, I use max factor and Chanel. They both provide good coverage whilst still being nice and light,
