Recommend Me A Hairdryer

My hairdryer is a very old cheap one I've had for years. It's not good at all.
I have long naturally curly hair that often does frizzy.
If I'm in a rush I just dry it quickly.
If I have plenty of time and I'm straightening it I'll use the concentrator nozzle to blow dry it straight before using my straighteners.
Since I had it trimmed and layered I've decided I want to make the most of my natural curls by using mousse and a diffuser to dry it.
I want something that has a concentrator nozzle and a diffuser, multi speed and heat settings, and a cold setting. Also not too expensive as haven't got too much money to spend on it. (I swear by my GHD straighteners, but just can't afford a GHD dryer right now, I wish I could).
Any suggestions? TIA

I’m interested too. GHDs, Parlux, Dyson??? Are they really worth the money and if so, why?

Can MNHQ please move this so I get more replies? Thank You.

I recently acquired a Dyson hairdryer and it’s great - really good at giving volume and straight hair.

HandOff · 03/09/2018 20:36

I've been having a look at the different hair dryers. It seems parlux seems to come highly recommended and if not then babyliss diamond. I was going to purchase babyliss diamond but then decide it was too large and I wanted a compact less that 0.5kg one. I'm saving up for a parlux, I hope it will be worth it.

teawamutu · 03/09/2018 21:28

My ETI was half the price of Parlux, is brilliant and still going strong after six years.

HandOff · 03/09/2018 21:32

@teawamutu which eti did you get?

candlefloozy · 03/09/2018 21:53

I've got a ghd one which is great but I'd have a dyson if I had the money

justilou1 · 04/09/2018 13:28

I bought the Remington Air 3D which is supposed to be a copy of the Dyson and I DON’T rate it at all. It’s still expensive, it’s heavy, my hair gets sucked into it and it only has one temperature - nuclear fission hot. I wish I’d just shelled out for the Dyson.

AnneWiddecombesHandbag · 04/09/2018 13:30

I've got a dyson and parlux. Both are great!

HandOff · 04/09/2018 21:19

@AnneWiddecombesHandbag Is there much difference between Parlux and Dyson in relation to frizz and shine? And which Parlux model do you have?

AnneWiddecombesHandbag · 04/09/2018 21:32

The dyson leaves my hair much smoother but I get more volume from the parlux. I do find the dyson easier to blow dry with though.

I have the parlux 3200 compact.

AnneWiddecombesHandbag · 04/09/2018 21:33

Also they Dyson is very quick!

HandOff · 04/09/2018 21:39

Anne thanks. I can't afford the dyson but have saved up for Parlux. Thinking of getting the advance one which is 2/3 of the size and weight of the compact. I could save up for a few more years for dyson but do you think tha will be worth it? Currently I have rubbish yet functional hairdryer

Zoflorabore · 04/09/2018 21:45

I've had a Diva for a couple of years and it's amazing and I think it's on par with the Parlux ( that sounds weird! ) but cheaper.

I've used the Parlux in the training salon when I did it at college until i quit after a month and it is good but I find it heavy.

I think that unless you can blow dry properly then the hairdryer isn't the issue, it's about learning how to use one in the first place.
I am a perfectionist when it comes to my hair and think if hair is blow dried properly then you don't need to use straighteners.

HandOff · 04/09/2018 21:46

@Zoflorabore would you recommend any guides or YouTube videos to blow drying please?

AnneWiddecombesHandbag · 04/09/2018 21:58

@HandOff i don't think the dyson is worth years of saving. I'd go for the parlux. I was totally happy with it. My husband bought the dyson as a gift! Otherwise I'd have stuck with the parlux!

HandOff · 04/09/2018 22:00

Thanks Anne! Smile my decision finally made to order one this weekend!

happymummy12345 · 04/09/2018 22:51

Zoflora my hair doesn't stay straight enough with just a hairdryer. Plus I like it poker straight. So my GHD's are my best friend.
