I'm nearly 30 and mum to 2 DC. Life is hectic and I neglect myself at times. I'm really starting to feel a bit down about myself and my appearance. I used to be fresh faced and radiant and now I'm just tired looking and unkempt. How can I turn it around? What changes can I make that will make a visible difference to my appearance. Really grateful for your help & advice. Thank you.

Rosehip oil. Its amazing!

I think the main thing is hair. A good cut, and a colour or highlights if you usually colour.

Eyebrows waxed and lightly tinted

Skincare routine - I signed up to the Look Fantastic monthly beauty box a few months ago, so every month I have things like a cleanser, serum, moisturiser etc

Clothes - have a look on Instagram etc for fashion ideas

I’m feeling the same OP, I’m not even 25 and with a baby and toddler feel like il

...I’m fresh or attractive looking anymore.

I’ve started using Superdrug’s Glycolic toner and planning on getting a good facial oil to go with my serum as well, probably rosehip like a PP suggested.

Agree with hair care - fine something that works for your colour, texture and length - all things to consider.

Invest in some good natural enhancing type makeup rather than anything trendy or too far from your natural look. A good eyebrow product (no warm tones), a nice eye opening mascara, little bit of eyeliner, nice creamy lip pencil and a foundation texture that’s easy to work with and not a pain to blend. Pick a good flattering blush too; I prefer creams.

These things are all both flattering and natural as well as quick. I used to wear too much makeup and then went to never having the time to do it. Now, 12 years after I started wearing makeup I finally feel like I’m starting to hit the right balance!

If you need inspiration, for makeup youtubers like Lisa Eldridge and Charlotte Tilbury are good for nice sophisticated and natural makeup - although CT drives me crazy with the amount of pushing her own products she does!

My main thing is the weight gain after many last pregnancy. Definitely feel more frumpy :( but a sustainable exercise and diet routine will tackle it over time and I can’t recommend weight lifting enough for shape and posture. Eat whatever makes you feel better - for me low carb makes me feel consistently crap but lots of fresh fruit makes me feel great.

I need to make a de-frumping list and take some of my own advice!

Get a flattering hairstyle, have it coloured if you've got any grey.

Wear blusher, tinted moisturiser, mascara.

Wear some bright colours, never black, against your face.

Really dull but drink lots of water. It does wonders for your skin and general glow.
Find a good creamy cleanser and ‘hot polish’ or whatever it’s called with a flannel.
Nice hair cut and colour.
Figure out what ‘season’ you are and buy clothes in that palette. There’s loads of sites where you can fill in a questionnaire to find out.

Basics-

water , lots of water , drink 2+ litres a day. If you like you can add a slice of lemon. I don't drink chilled , it makes my IBS worse.

Cut down on coffee , alcohol, smoking, sugar

Cleanse - double cleanse with a muslin or flannel (DD likes flannels , I like muslin) use a clean one each time

No matter how knackered you are , don't go to sleep in make-up

Find a cream that works for you and you'll enjoy using. I'm 52 but I use the 40+ Superdrug cream, not too heavy

Have your eyelashes tinted and your brows threaded

YY to hair , make an appointment get something done, huge boost

Excercise , even a walk through the park

When you buy clothes , get out of your comfort zone sometimes. I often buy a TShirt that I'd never normally buy , might be £3 , but sometimes I surprise myself Grin I;ve never had my colours done but I looked online and some of the suggestions I was wtaf but I tried them.

I agree with a good hair cut. Makes the most difference. And threaded brows. If you are pale always use mascara. If not, a bit of lip gloss. Wear a good, fresh perfume and a piece of striking jewellery. That way you look like you've made an effort, and that alone takes years off most people.

Thanks for that tantric I went out and bought some new skin care things and have been following the routine. My skin feels better already, Not sure the appearance has changed much, but it's only been 2 days.
