Foundation - good coverage, dewy finish - no need to powder?

Can any one recommend something? Preferably a cheap one!

I have rosacea (although slowly getting under control) so I do need a foundation, but I really want to stop using powder. I feel like I apply everything and feel lovely and glowy, then the powder dulls everything down and makes me feel old and floury. However, not using it means any sort of contact with my face means it rubs off the foundation leaving me with a patch of redness in the rest of my face.

I do use a setting spray which is great, but it doesn't stop slippy ones from coming off. I like Mac Face and Body and will rebuy if necessary, but I do need a couple of layers (or three!) on bad skin days.

Vichy Dermablend compact - it isn’t cheap (about £22 but often on 25% off in Boots). It’s buildable, very blendable has SPF30 and gives a very dewy finish. I top it with NYX dewy effect finishing spray.

Also check out Sali Hughes piece in today’s Guardian. It’s all about finishing powders that will give you a glow!

Dermacol cover is brilliant, buildable and still only need a little bit for a full face. I bought mine back in March and have only used half a tube - that's with everyday wear. I purchased on amazon for under £10.

I use Estee Lauder doublewear maximum cover camouflage foundation to cover my redness. I have suffered with pretty bad rosacea and this has covered up the worst of it, I still use it now as although my rosacea has been sorted, I still have some redness. Its not cheap but a little goes a long way, a tube will last me around 3 months.
Out of interest, what have you used to control your rosacea? Mine was eventually cured with Soolantra, it kills off the demodex mite which lives on the skin in much higher concentration on people suffering with rosacea. If you haven't tried it I can highly recommend it.

Soolantra improved my rosacea too, amazing cream.

Livedandlearned2 I wish I'd known about Soolantra 20 years ago. Tried anything and everything to get rid. The difference to my skin now is amazing. bastard evil demodex mites

I've only had bloody rosacea for about 5 years and after all the drugs stopped working I tried everything, literally everything, to have near normal skin. I practically begged my gp to prescribe it to me.

It's quite a new drug I think so to be fair spaghetti you would have only had it a few years ago. I'm so grateful for the stuff thouh, I treasure it.

L'Oréal infallible stay fresh is good
Doublewear survives everything and no need to powder, revlon colourstay is supposedly a dupe but I prefer the L'Oréal one for a cheap version

@OnTopOfSpaghetti I’ve tried (so far):

Finacea - worked for a year then stopped working
Doxycycline - gave me terrible diarrhoea Blush so couldn’t continue
Metrogel - did nothing
Mirvaso - is weird. Leaches the colour out of my cheeks but has given me more spots.

I have an appointment on Monday - the last gp I saw said soolantra was available only from dermatologists which I know isn’t true as I’m part of many rosacea groups.

I do have pretty bad redness but I use fake tan make up fairly regularly which disguises it ok. I don’t want to all the time though as I’m pale naturally.

I’ve actually got the original doublewear - it’s so weird it oxidises something terrible on me.

Thanks for all the suggestions I’ll be shopping on Monday I think.

Oh I'd be demanding Soolantra! Honestly it completely sorted my skin. Good luck.
