I am braving Primark on Thursday, looking for crop leggings for the dd's and any 'must-haves'

so anyone seen anything good in the last couiple of weeks or am I going to have to trail round hoping to happen on something good?

ballet pumps? sandals/wedges?

Went to Primark, Oxford Street the other day and walked out. It's not for the fainthearted.
BTW I wasn't after anything specific or I would have stayed.

great flat shoes. and theyve just launched an organic cotton range too!

BishyBarneyBee · 06/06/2007 17:26

footless tights
cherry make up bag

Have been in recently.
Didn't buy anything.
It all looked a total pile of crap - shame cos I like a bargain.

Lucycat · 06/06/2007 18:19

mmm that's the trouble - either there is lots of half decent stuff or total crap.

The flat shoes might be worth a look and I do like their accessories.

Oxford St definitely extremely stressful BUT among lots of crap there are LOADS of great buys. Some of the summer sandals are fabulous, ditto to smocks and other flowy summery tops, and some of the bags. Summery lingerie not bad, either. The bras are at least as good quality as M&S (knickers a bit flimsier, though!) and about a quarter of the price.

foxybrown · 06/06/2007 20:47

Loved the leather flip-flops, and also got some good kaftans/beach cover-ups for £3 or £5!

MrsSpoon · 06/06/2007 20:48

I tried on some linen trews recently, they were only £10 but the 12 was a bit tight and I was feeling too vain that day to try the 14 on but they look quite good quality, in fact I might pop in tomorrow, not feeling so vain this week.

fireflyfairy2 · 06/06/2007 20:49

Never is anything much in my local Primark, but then we are in the arsehole of nowhere.

Earlybird · 06/06/2007 20:52

Exactly what is it about Oxford Street shop that is so stressful?

Went past it the other day, and was shocked at how huge it is....

lissie · 07/06/2007 08:19

love their basic tops! the 3/4 sleeve stretchy ones wash really well, ditto the ribbed vests and for £1.50 cant really grumble!

LoveAngel · 07/06/2007 08:45

Earlybird - I am a hardcore shopper and even I find Oxford St Primark very, very stresfsul. I have to will myself to mentally 'zone out' and ignore the fact that there are hundreds of other shoppers who have mostly left their manners at home, grabbing at garments, throwing stuff around, pushing and shoving phew ...its hard work. And the queues are ridiculoiously long (although quite fast moving). I would only reccomend it if you are planning on doing quite a big shop (makes it worth it). And get their when it opens, before it gets too manic, is my best advice. If you're in London, you could try the Hammersmith one - quite a big one (not as big as Oxford St) and much less stressy.

LoveAngel · 07/06/2007 08:46

excuse awful typos / spelling - I can usually write good English, honest!

Earlybird · 07/06/2007 12:55

LoveAngel - thanks for the report. I guess I imagined that such a huge space could easily handle hundreds of people. I know it was a nightmare when the store first opened, but had no idea that the nightmare was ongoing. Doesn't sound like fun at all....and I'm most definitely not a hardcore shopper, so I'll probably stay away.

MrsSpoon · 07/06/2007 15:34

Strange went into Primark today to try on linen trews and took the 14s into the changing room and they were way to big so bought the 12 and they are still generous, plus they were only £8, quite nice they are too, will do fine for travelling next week.

BettySpaghetti · 07/06/2007 15:41

MrsSpoon I had the same experience -bought some £8 linen trousers in a 12, my usual size, and they are very big.

I just have to make sure I tie them at the front otherwise it might be a bit .

Lucycat · 07/06/2007 19:35

Well I survived - just!

got some white pumps for £3 and some black ones for £4, some linen trousers, a couple of vest tops and some really nice wide leg trousers for £8.

I resisted buying some of their £6 jeans, even though they fit perfectly - they are actually long enough for me - something to go back for

LOL Betty, I will remember to tie them tight!

The funny thing is I definitely tried on linen trew in Primark a couple of weeks back and the 12s were very tight, wonder if these are a different cut? If they are I like them.
