Hi all
I’m 47 and have a night out planned on Saturday. It involves meeting and having a few drinks in some pubs.
I’m wearing a dress. I just do not know wot to wear on my feet .
I need something I can walk in .

Just wear something comfortable! Who cares? (I don't own any footwear that isn't comfortable, can't see the point). I'd wear flat sandals / converse / supergas. I look like a pissed off giraffe in heels.

Converse. Go metallic if necc.

Buy something cheap from Primark if you want heels and have something comfy in your handbag.

I thought that
I might wear heels
And take my boots
Can’t believe I’m asking about sensible shoesSmile

Slip on trainers?
I only wear heels at weddings or wandering around the office.

If it was me I would wear a pair of wedges with a slight platform sole- that way you get the extra height and feel dressed up but can still walk if you need to. I have a little pair of roll up ballet pumps I put in my bag fro emergency moments too.

BTW- converse with a dress in the evening is a def. no! I'd always say heels for a night out unless there's a medical reason toucan't wear them.

Connie5858 · 24/08/2018 08:55

I thought wedges
But I can’t find them
I really don’t fancy trainers with a dress

This may not be the place, but why why oh WHY is it seen as normal to be in pain/discomfort on a night out because you 'have' to wear heels??? Utter nonsense. (Yes, a few people can wear heels without pain etc.)
The choice is not heels or trainers. There's a million and one options out there depending on your own style and what you're wearing.

sparkles on brogues here

espadrilles would look fine with a dress if warm

flat boots would look fine if rainy

trainers for athleisure look. I would feel fine about wearing this sort of thing with a plain maxi skirt and pretty top

Summer shoe sales have been and gone in Jun/July. Stores are launching their autumn ranges so you're more likely to find ankle boots than espadrilles or summery wedges on the high street now.

It's not supposed to be that warm this weekend so I'd probably get myself some block heeled ankle boots or some Chelsea boots. Not these in particular but this sort of thing.

these are my favourite wedges- they are low heeled so don't hurt feet- give quite a casual look though.

A block heel can be easier to wear- these are cool or these if you want a more formal look.
