Is it worth selling a Mulberry bag?

Evening all!

I'm considering selling my graphite Mulberry Bayswater, I bought it in 2015 and have probably used it a total of 10-15 times since (style doesn't really suit me, plus 1.5 children later it's not that practical). I don't have dust bag or tags but it's in great condition as not really used.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience selling Mulberry bags of late, and if so where would you recommend doing so? Typically I've sold on eBay and Depop but don't usually sell things as expensive as this bag was.

I would sell via Labels Most Wanted ( not me btw) The owner is THE most experienced Mulberry reseller there is .

There is a Facebook selling site for Mulberry bags, I bought one off there recently. I will just check what it's called and get back to you.

Mulberry UK buy sell swap.

I sold a Chloe bag on eBay and it was hell. Long story short I got it back broken 😡 and had to refund. Never again.

Go through a dress agency or reputable seller as suggested above ^.

Laska5772 · 22/08/2018 20:45

or try NPN they are also very good and only buy and sell genuine bags

Laska5772 · 22/08/2018 20:46

NPN sell my bag page

kaytees · 22/08/2018 21:27

Thanks all - some great suggestions here!

@yoghurtmaker that's awful - agree, have been put off eBay a bit in recent times after a buyer insisted they'd paid and I hadn't sent it . Clearly they hadn't paid and eBay could see that but still, the hassle of it!

Facebook mulberry sites deffo. I purchased 2 bags and 2 wallets. Serious buyers in there. Post lots of photos and details and you'll be fine. I bag even buy it! I'm looking for a bayswater

TattiePants · 22/08/2018 22:34

NPN are great but they do take a large cut as their fee. I would try one of the Mulberry Facebook groups first:

Mulberry swap & sell
Mulberry - new & preloved
exclusively mulberry

As it’s graphite I assume it was an outlet special - if it doesn’t have feet or a cloche that will affect the price.

kaytees · 23/08/2018 08:31

@TattiePants thanks - will try via Facebook first. It was an outlet buy but it has feet and a cloche, which is interesting - you're right, they usually don't.

Good news in way. I have a brand new never used Mulberry that is just sitting there in it's. I'm just worried about selling online. Has anyone used any of the websites ?

kaytees · 23/08/2018 20:25

Interesting update - managed to sell it within about an hour for more than I thought I'd get, so a big thanks to you all for your help!

Sadly 7 months late to this thread. Having the same dilemma where to sell my graphite mulberry - with feet and cloche - also has dustbag and receipt. I was wondering how the sale went, as I’m very nervous to send off such an expensive bag incase something goes wrong / they say they haven’t got it. eBay has given me the fear!!

SpeckledyHen · 29/03/2019 17:03

Labels Most Wanted is the best place to sell a Mulberry bag .

Palominoo · 29/03/2019 17:26

I sell anything of value through Vestiare

www.vestiairecollective.com

trendingorange · 30/03/2019 08:29

I think Vestiaire take 40% Commission?

Palominoo · 30/03/2019 08:59

The commission varies

faq.vestiairecollective.com/hc/en-gb/articles/200429161-Calculate-our-commission

It might seem a lot but things sell at higher prices because they are authenticated by them so buyers purchase in confidence.

Selling items yourself the buyers won't pay as much in case its a fake and they can't get their money back etc.

kaytees · 30/03/2019 16:31

@peach94 hello! I ended up selling it through a Facebook group - MB buy swap and sell (they aren't allowed to use the word 'mulberry' as it goes against facebooks rules, go figure!).

I got more than the price I wanted and the buyer paid postage too, I sent it Royal Mail tracked and signed. It was really easy and as all communication was through Facebook messenger it felt less faff than going through somewhere like Vestiaire.

Also so you know there was a LOT of interest for mine so if you do go down that route I don't think you'd have much trouble selling it.

Hope that helps!

I've sold quite a few on eBay, but have dust bags and receipts and posted photos of them and sent them on to the buyers. There are cheeky fuckers though, who complain about condition, for God's sake you could see the condition (good) from the photo and it is ten years old.

I've stopped buying them now and happy with the four I've kept.

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 30/03/2019 16:59

1.5 children?

kaytees · 30/03/2019 17:15

@SlinkyDinkyDoo I was pregnant in the original post - he's now 3 months old so I have 2 children now 😂
