Help! Wardrobe overhaul recommendations needed

Turning 37 soon, have 2 kids, 20 months and 4 months old. I've been wearing the same things since I was quite pregnant with DD1 as they're comfy and I've been breastfeeding or pregnant the WHOLE time.
The plan is to chuck everything out and start my wardrobe from scratch once I finish breastfeeding DD2 (aiming for weaning to formula from 6 months but she currently refuses bottles so it may be a bit longer)

Anyhow, to my point.

I need new clothes, everything - undies right through to coats. And suddenly I find that my post partum almost middle aged body looks like a lumpy potato in anything I would have picked back when I bought clothes.

I'm 5' 5", size 10-12 - large boobs (about 34F). Not a bad waist but I'm still carrying about 4kg of "baby weight" (definitely baby - nothing at all to do with the daily cream cakes to cope with a baby that doesn't sleep) which seems to be stored at the tops of my arms, legs and tummy. I have size 12 jeans that are far too big on my waist but fit my thighs and bum well.

Where do I start? I live in skinny jeans, flats, a vest top and baggy T over the top which thanks to the huge boobs and arms makes me look far bigger than I actually am. I'd like to be one of these effortlessly chic women you see gliding about but I just look scruffy or frumpy and pick the wrong things for my shape. I feel like I need to evolve into a more grown up style.
Can you recommend:

  1. a decent bra fitting service as all of my undies are getting binned and I'll be buying lovely bras that don't unclip (squeeeee!)
  2. classic, chic tops and bottoms, maybe a dress or two, jackets ideally not loose fitting tops as these make me look big
  3. accessories...

Oh wise S&B MNers please, please help! I'm happy to pay for quality items

I'm 5ft, size 12 and a 34E so fairly similar (well, I was, I'm 6 months pregnant atm!).

I really rate Uniqlo 3/4 sleeve tops for autumn/winter as they balance out my boobs and arms by showing a bit of wrist.

Here

I buy a large for a bit of extra length but you might be ok with a medium. I also rate their roll-neck and short sleeved versions of the same top.

Oh thanks! I've never tried anything from Uniqlo so I'll take a look at them.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!

I would recommend getting your colours done. A personal stylist should be able to do this followed by a wardrobe edit and shopping trip.

Ooh I'm so naive - is getting colours done a thing? I thought it was just a thing Bridget Jones' mum did!!
I will take a look at that too!

Get the almost fitting jeans to a tailor and have them nip in the waist for you. I think it was £15-20 last time I needed it done but it makes a huge difference.

Bra fitting I think the fitter makes the difference, not the store. Try a specialist independent, bravissimo or a big department store (not m&s).

Thanks! Should have said 5ft4 not 5ft!

What is the uniqlo sizing like?
