Getting rid/minimising ‘11’ lines

MindBodyChocolate · 22/08/2018 11:57

The 2 lines between eyebrows - I’m 40, the rest of my face is relatively wrinkle free but my ‘11s’ are quite deep. I tend to frown a lot ( not cos I’m miserable, just my normal face!!) which obviously doesn’t help.

Is Botox the only option? I’d prefer not to, so interested in other experiences.

I have the same problem. I did some looking into it and it seems Botox is the only thing that makes any difference unfortunately.

Didiusfalco · 22/08/2018 13:11

I’m the same op. Honestly, I think aside from Botox there is nothing that will make much difference. I don’t want Botox so I’m just going to ignore mine - or possibly get a fringe! 🤔

MindBodyChocolate · 22/08/2018 13:11

Thanks - I was hoping for something less invasive but I suspected this might be the case!

Did you go for the Botox?

can you see properly?
have you had an eye test recently?

Chocchip88 · 22/08/2018 13:15

I have these, otherwise fairly wrinkle free. I'm having Botox for the first time this week. Will report back!

CryptoFascist · 22/08/2018 13:22

I started having Botox about a year ago for this. Honestly it's changed my face, I look much more relaxed in photos and I'm not unconsciously frowning when I catch a glimpse of myself. It took a lot of courage to go to the first appointment and waiting two weeks to see the final results was rather nerve wracking. If you don't like the results you don't have to go again once it wears off. I bet you do though!

evilharpy · 22/08/2018 13:49

MindBodyChocolate I haven't gone for botox... yet. But I do want to. There have just been too many other things to spend the money on.

SeaLionsOnMyShirt · 22/08/2018 14:01

Caci facials work for me on those lines. Not cheap though I'm afraid, and you'd probably need a course of 5 or 10 to start off with. I just have regular maintenance now, maybe 1 session every 6 weeks and I've really noticed the difference over the past year.

Delatron · 22/08/2018 14:07

I had Botox for this area and crows feet. It takes away the wrinkles yes but I felt it slightly altered the look of my face so I’m pleased it’s wearing off now. I think I’ll just get a fringe. I went to a good place too, one of the top doctors in the country.

I’m in NYC st the moment and I keep seeing so much bad Botox that has also put me off.

You also have to be careful on your 40s as with Botox in your forehead creates a face of two halves. That’s a dead giveaway.

I’m going to up my retinol use in Autumn and look in to micro needling. Just generally try to improve the look of the rest of my face.

MindBodyChocolate · 22/08/2018 14:07

Yes, I can see properly!! I’ve always had a frowny face!!

I’ll research caci facials as my nearest salon does them. I’m just not keen on the idea of Botox (the injections etc)

I liked Caci too, going to go back to that I think. It’s great for jowels too.

AmethystMoon · 22/08/2018 15:10

I could have written your post OP. I plucked up the courage to go for Botox. I go to a doctor which is more expensive but I feel safer. I just have my ‘11’s done, like you I was very frowny!
It’s amazing, no one noticed but no one has told me to stop frowning or looking cross, or asking “What’s up?”......so perfect outcome for me. I didn’t want to look younger, I wanted to not look cross and so serious all the time.

thedevilinablackdress · 22/08/2018 17:01

A fringe 😁

Kewqueue · 22/08/2018 17:04

I can't grow a fringe. Confused What is a caci facial?

Delatron · 22/08/2018 17:22

Caci is a device using a micro current. So tones the skin. You do need a course to begin with and have it at least once, preferably twice a week. Then for maintenance once a month.

Cakefairy1978 · 22/08/2018 17:38

I BOTOXd my 11s. No cream or anything worked. Mine were so deep and after about 2 weeks they were almost invisible. I'm having a second lot soon which apparently makes them even better

MindBodyChocolate · 22/08/2018 18:31

Thanks all. I’ve just had a pixie cut so my fringe is v short. It’s probably why I’m noticing the lines more! I don’t have any very visible lines or wrinkles on my actual forehead which is why I didn’t think through the consequences of a very short haircut :)

Frownies really work for me. I know they sound silly and a waste of money but they do! I buy them from Amazon

princesstiasmum · 23/08/2018 10:33

I was going to suggest frownies too, i know someone who swears by them, get them on ebay

w4ytoomuch · 23/08/2018 12:19

Botox.......! 100%. It's amazing.

OyWithThePoodles · 23/08/2018 12:50

I'm using a great night cream, which I'm sure is plumping these a little: Skyn Iceland Oxygen Infusion. Not miraculous, but a definite improvement.

MindBodyChocolate · 27/08/2018 17:12

I’ve seen the Skyn Iceland stuff in m&s and was quite taken by the cool packaging!! (Sooo shallow). Glad to hear it actually works. My night cream at the min is some Clinique night quench or something which has a nice feel, but does nothing for lines.

OP posts:
SheWoreBlueVelvet · 27/08/2018 18:32

AmethystMoon Exactly that!! I've had two shots of Botox and whilst the 11's are still there they are way less visible. No one, especially my mother says "stop frowning " everytime she sees me.

I don't want that weird shiny, bulging forehead you can get from over use but this absolutely hasn't happened yet.
