Ordinary 2% granactive retinoid- um, what’s it supposed to be doing?

Because I can’t see any difference.

Read lots of posts on here of people saying it’s really good and even that it irritated some people’s skin/made them break out before seeing an improvement but it’s doing absolutely nothing.

Do I need something stronger??!

I'd like to know as well I am using the hylorionic acid, buffet and the retinoid not sure what results I should be getting.

I tried this and didn’t like it at all, I’d previously used a retinol serum off amazon which was more expensive but I got great results with. It really evened out my skin tone and took away redness. I don’t think I got any spots whilst using it at all either. The ordinary version just didn’t do anything, it just made my face feel oily and I didn’t feel it sunk into the skin well. It was annoying really as the price is obviously fantastic.

Same as you Truffle. It sinks in fine and feels ok but, well, that’s about it! I was hoping it might fade a couple of dark spots I have...

Truffle which was the one you got off amazon?

TruffleShuffles · 23/08/2018 19:39

I got purOrganica retinol serum, if you type in retinol serum on amazon it’s one of the first that comes up and the reviews are really good.

I'm about to start using this too; the instructions on the packaging are not clear. It doesn't say clearly how much to use, how often & which parts of your face to use it on (or avoid).

It's hard to know if you're getting it right, with such vague instructions.

Having said that, I've found the Hyularonic acid serum & moisturiser have really improved my skin; it's much softer.

Elledorado · 24/08/2018 10:48

I use it at night and find my skin is much smoother in the morning (my makeup looks amazing) and I have far fewer breakouts (none if I use it every night).

Chocwocdoodah · 26/08/2018 18:20

Actually, now you mention it, I have had far fewer spots....

Do you use it all over your face? Or just certain areas? I'm having a zit outbreak (hormonal) & might give it a shot!

I’ve been using buffet and hyaluronic acid in the am with spf 15 moisturiser and the buffet then 2% retinol then rosehip oil at night. My skin has never looked so good and i’m now only wearing minimal makeup and no tinted moisturiser.
I’ve been doing this a couple of months and the results are amazing... people have asked me if I have had “something done”

However, i’m not convinced the hyaluronic acid or the retinol are responsible. I think it’s the buffet stuff and the rosehip oil, which is a shame as the buffet is so sticky and feels odd, and the oil smells a bit fusty ... but hey ho...

I have to say that I haven’t had a single spot though.... maybe that’s the retinol...

Chocwocdoodah · 29/08/2018 17:35

I’ve been slapping it all over my face. Only every other evening though.

Fading any pigmentation will take a long time. Are you using a daily spf?

Chocwocdoodah · 29/08/2018 22:39

Yup, factor 50 everyday.
