As above really.

What products do you use or have used that have surprised you because of their low price.

Obviously, people will have different definitions of budget prices.

Shampoos, make up, creams etc......All suggestions or recommendations welcome!

Thank you

Also atrixo hand cream, but only the intensive one in the green pot.

Artura · 28/08/2018 20:18

Second recommendation for Boots curl cream. Essential for a curly haired gal and no silicones.
Also love a splash of 4711 for cheap summer fragrance.

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 28/08/2018 20:41

MUA nail varnish in Amaretto Crush. Absolute favourite colour.

Doingreat · 28/08/2018 22:39

Rimmel 25hr serum foundation. I switched to this from Estee lauder double wear and the clinique beyond perfecting foundation and would not go back to either now.

Soap instead of shower gel and handwash will save you a small fortune.

witchofzog · 28/08/2018 22:42

I second The Aldi Q10 serum and also the caviar cream. You can buy both for a tenner and they make your skin look radiant

MissMarplesKnitting · 28/08/2018 22:46

Nice soap. Preferably french, they're amazing. Last months. Less mould in the shower, skin is so much nicer, better for the environment.

The ordinary azelaic acid has made a huge difference to my skin. Fewer big spots, and it plumps up and brightens. £5 well spent.

Superdrug own hot cloth cleanser. Use cheap flannels to remove.

Collection liquid concealer. Works a treat at a bargain price.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/08/2018 22:56

Yes to soap. We've now replaced handwash, shower gel and bubble bath with bar soap and it lasts so much longer, as well as being eco.

Blue tub Nivea.

Barry M nail gelly nail polish is amazing. I use it on my toenails (prefer a natural look on fingers) and it lasts at least a week without chipping and has a lovely finish.

I bought a Dove gradual tanner from a pound shop (can't remember which) and mix it with a body lotion. It looks fab, very natural. Just remember to regularly exfoliate knees ankles and elbows.

Have bought a serum, some hyaluronic acid and a retinoid from The Ordinary. Been using for about a week and skin seems much brighter already.

Best 'free' beauty aids are plenty of sleep and lots of water Grin

Best cheap face mask is a layer of greek yogurt. You can add other things to it like honey or turmeric but on its own it also works. Brightens and moisturizes.

Destinysdaughter · 31/08/2018 07:52

Went into town yesterday and got a little sample of that Rimmel serum foundation mentioned upthread. For a cheap foundation I was v impressed with it. Good coverage and nice finish, have dry skin so Doublewear is too flat for me. Will def buy it when I need a new foundation. Thanks for the recommendation! Smile

Destinysdaughter · 31/08/2018 07:53

Korean sheet masks are only a couple of quid and give your skin a quick boost!

Itsautumn · 31/08/2018 09:00

Superdrug simply pure hydrating serum is great. And cheap as chips. The whole range is good if you have sensitive skin.

CutesyUserName · 31/08/2018 09:30

Aldi CC cream. I am a long-term Estee Lauder DW user and this beats it hands down. I'm also a fan of their hot cloth cleanser and moisturisers. They are easily as good as the expensive ones I used to use.

user1457017537 · 31/08/2018 11:10

Rimmel eye and lip pencils. Their matte tube lipstick is also brilliant.

lulla12345 · 31/08/2018 16:29

I really recommend Zara perfumes, I have a rose one and the white one. So cheap and smell lovely. Also love their handbag sized spray versions.

Doingreat · 31/08/2018 20:26

The hydrating serums from superdrug are great. Both the day and night one. Glide on like silk.

I used to use simple oil cleanser. Once I finished the bottle I put organic olive oil into it and use as a cleanser and make up remover. It works so well and you can masage your face while cleansing. A huge 500ml of the organic olive oil from tesco costs £3.25 and is extra virgin, comes in a glass bottle so better for the environment. And you can add it to salad, do a deep hair treatment with it, use as a facial oil or slather all over body!! It definitely is the most multi purpose health and beauty product ever.

Sunbeam18 · 31/08/2018 23:51

Garnier micellar cleansing water - fantastic eye make up remover £1

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/09/2018 07:31

Tesco £1 hair serum, in a little red bottle.

Superdrug own brand anything. Very rarely buy a dud from there.

CherryBlossom23 · 01/09/2018 08:06

ELF matte makeup setting spray, £5. Makes my makeup last all day and doesn't smell weird or make my skin feel weird.

LanaorAna2 · 01/09/2018 19:32

Mircofibre Spontex cloths instead of posh face flannels when removing oil cleanser or hot cloth cleanser. Identical, 50p not 15 quid.

Doingreat · 01/09/2018 21:12

@lanaorana2 would be great if you could post a link to the microfibre cloths you use.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/09/2018 21:55

YY to Korean Italy towels
Best exfoliant ever.
No gritty bath to clean, no 'coated' feeling and they are effective . Some scrubs are too scratchy , others too mild.

Only downside is a 30 minute hot bath with no bubbles (but I do use DeadSea salts )

Barbayagar · 02/09/2018 08:17

Essence from Wilko. Push up eye pencils, mascara (all are good), lipsticks etc.

Lotsofsausage · 02/09/2018 11:30

Superdrug naturally radiant range - I use the Glycolic pads and hot cloth cleanser. They're always on 2 - 4 - 1 and my skin has never been better. plus cruelty free.

I also like Aldi Q10 face cream with spa 20 for day time under my base.

Garnier BB cream is my all time favourite base, less than a tenner and I stoped buying touche éclat for their roll on eye concealer.

The ordinary - most is less than a tenner. I use their retinol and rose hop oil on an evening after cleansing and glycolic acid.
