Something like fly London mes/ mol boots, but waterproof?

Seeing as everyone bought them years ago, they are probably dated now... However... they are one of the few boots where my toes are comfortable and not crushed.

I need to replace them, but would rather something waterproof. I like country boots, but can’t wear them for work.

I need something in black that could go under work trousers (I’m on my feet all day), the slight lift is about the only heel I can manage.

Failing that, some good waterproofing product - I live in a very rainy part of the uk!

Im working from memory of what Mes/Mol look like but I have Dr Martens similar to these

They've been extremely comfortable and waterproof

I have those dr martens boots. I was gonna recommend them too. snap! Very comfy, waterproof and lined so quite warm

I love those doc marten boots so much, but found them too tight around my toes (next size up was too big).

I’m currently looking at timberland boots at the moment - with the chukka in black or the 14” lace up (but they are very expensive).

Yes I also have the Dr martens in red but they do let water in around the seam in heavy rain.

Watching with interest. I need something for this winter and I find fly boots not very hard wearing for the price.

The timberland say they are waterproof. The ankle ones seem more functional, but not sure whether to try the longer lace up ones (that might be good with dresses - I don’t normally wear them due to never having comfortable footwear to go with them - but maybe too expensive and a little wasteful if I wear them under trousers.

I have my eye on these Merrell boots for Winter, would they be suitable?

AllAtHome · 19/08/2018 00:24

I really like those, but I wonder if they would be too 'wintry' or for snow rather than cross seasons?

Yes I'm thinking of the very cold winter we had. What about these Ecco boots ? Not as stylish as the Merrells but would look ok under trousers?

I asked the exact same question a year or two ago (in fact I thought someone had bumped it!). I love my fly boots, but they do leak. I have the knee high timberland and the low calf (higher than the ankle one you linked). The low calf have been waterproof in fairly heavy rain, leading me to buy the others last winter sale! Obviously that means I haven’t worn them a lot yet but they look good, are a bit stiff to wear at the moment and a fiddle to lace, but again seem waterproof so far!

Don’t get the Merrell if you have wide feet, they come up narrow.

Ooh the 6” boots look good.

My heart is in the lace ups, but the 6” look like they’ll serve the purpose I’d need. But there’s not much difference in price (although both are expensive!)

I have ordered these Clarks ones to see if they are as comfy as my last pair of similar looking knee high Fly boots which, alas, are long dead. They are from the Unstructured range so should be comfy... Cannot say how waterproof they are from looking at the photo though.

BTS18 gives 20% off Clarks, I think until 31st Aug.
