Can I get rid of the bags under my eyes?

Hi, I was wondering if there's anything I can do to get rid of the bags u dear my eyes? I am lucky not to have too many wrinkles or sagging, but the bags under my eyes do age me. They aren't huge, but noticeable enough and I would like to minimise them as much as I can.

To clarify, my main issue with my eye bags is puffiness, rather than colouring (although there's that too!).

Hi if it's just puffiness you could try witchazel soaked cotton wool pads and leave on for half an hour or whatever you can manage. You get this from pharmacy or Boots etc. My mum used to say used cold tea bags helped (put them in fridge first) but I found witchazel better. It's an astringent it tightens the skin temporarily

If they are proper bags only surgery will get rid of them i am afraid,as it is fat underneath the skin

TeddyIsaHe · 18/08/2018 23:48

Yes, have tear-trough fillers. It smooths out the whole area and makes you look like you’ve had about 5 years sleep. Only thing that works, creams etc won’t do a thing sadly.

After years of trying everything and spending ages every morning painting them away I gave in and had them removed with surgery. Best thing I ever did. Now people have stopped kindly telling me how tired I look 😁.

mehhh · 19/08/2018 09:09

I'm the exact same had bags for as long as I can remember, even when I'm not tired, the main issue is puffiness not colouring:.. I've been looking into tear trough fillers I just need the courage to go get it done!

Fillers and surgery I think are the only things that will work though

TeddyIsaHe · 19/08/2018 09:14

mehhh have a look at the Consultant Clinic, I’ve had fillers there and they are amazing! They dissolve them immediately if you aren’t happy with the results, and they only employ drs to do the actual fillers. Can’t reccomend them enough!

flashz · 19/08/2018 09:23

I have the same problem. I've always had them.
How much does surgery/filler cost?

bluetrampolines · 19/08/2018 09:26

Where do I get a tear trough filler?

Singlenotsingle · 19/08/2018 09:29

Teddy and Tipsey Does it hurt?

PorridgeIsYummy · 19/08/2018 09:30

Thanks, everyone! Must look at fillers...

Its quite quick surgery in that you're in and out the same day but it was general anaesthetic which really concerned me for a while. It throbbed a bit for a few days after but pain killers took away the worst of it. The healing took about two weeks so I did it over xmas so I wasn't in the office too much. I was still a bit puffy after that so claimed allergies 😁. Not sure I fooled anyone but who cares. Cost. I think it was about £3k. Sorry to sound vague but it was about 8 years ago!

TeddyIsaHe · 19/08/2018 09:47

Single I haven’t had the surgery so can’t comment on that, but the tear-trough fillers are done using a cannula (so a lovely smooth end) and only through one entry point so there is minimal bruising. They use a local anaesthetic which does sting a bit, but that’s the only pain. I had healed within 48 hours, tiny bit of bruising where the cannula went in, that’s it. It’s the best form of instant gratification!

bluetrampolines · 19/08/2018 17:13

Teddy

How long does it last?

Dontbuymesocks · 19/08/2018 19:06

@TeddyIsaHe

Are tear trough fillers painful? I’d like them but I’m a huge wimp! How does does the procedure take on each eye?

Disabrie22 · 19/08/2018 20:39

Has anyone got any before or after photos?

Jupiter9 · 19/08/2018 21:16

A few early nights work for me.

cheeseslovesme · 19/08/2018 22:14

I have the same problem Angry and was thinking of trough fillers. I am so fed up of people mentioning I look tired unwell. No matter how much concealer or creams I use. It also ages me. I don't have too many wrinkles, just dark and bad bags. Nothing works Sad really interested in the cost of tear trough fillers and if anyone has before n after photos.

pouraglasshalffull · 20/08/2018 13:00

I don't have anything to suggest that will actually get rid of bags, but try colour correcting underneath your eyes.

Try an orangey colour concealer underneath your foundation will get rid of this. Some "professionals" recommend bright red, but don't do that you will be able to see the red underneath your makeup. Go to Boots/Superdrug pick one up for cheap and give it a go, might make you feel a bit better through the day!

ilovechurros · 20/08/2018 13:16

People are conflating lots of issues here. There are 3 different problems:
Eye bags
Hollow tear troughs
Pigmentation (dark circles)

Each one requires different treatment. As the PP said, corrector and concealer can help with dark circles. Filler can help with hollow tear troughs (but won’t hide pigmentation). Eye bags are best dealt with via surgery but there are also other treatments like plasma BT which can tighten the skin.
You need to accurately identify your problem so you can find the best solution for it.

TeddyIsaHe · 20/08/2018 14:06

The fillers last for 6-9 months roughly, but I had mine nearly a year ago now and they still look great. It’s really not painful as all, the cannula they use is much gentler than a needle. I’ll hunt down some before and after photos!
