Am over weight.

Sick of women's coats being tight.

I want some room and I want a longer coat, I like my thighs being covered.

Should I just buy a blokes coat? It's not like I have a figure to show off. (5ft5 and 16st)

Doesn’t really matter where it is from. If you like it and it fits you - buy it. I buy jack wolf skin and north face menswear for dog walking as the ladies won’t fasten over my chest.

Love men's tops and coats for me. I see you've already got something - but another time just try a few on, see what size works and which you prefer.

always buy bloke stuff if you can. better and cheaper, and no stupid pink or glitter.

women are assumed fools who lurch from lunch to spa and womens clothes are designed accordingly. dont feed the fashion 'industry'.

DH is the same height as you and as a short slim man he has been known to buy women's tops to get the fit he wants. Mens clothes are often very baggy and drown a short slim man.

As a student I bought mens lambswool cardigans from M&S all the time, it was the done thing because they were baggy and better made and cheaper than the women's clothes. I actually bought a mans belt in Tecos recently, the women's belts were all plastic but the men's belts were all leather. What was interesting was how slim some of them were, I suspect they are aware women go into the mens section because as a size 10 I am still not at the tightest hole on a small men's belt.

Buy what you want to buy, mens clothes tend to be better made and have more room in them so a man's coat makes sense.

Op please return the coat if it's too small or uncomfortable. Life is too short to keep clothes as a kick up the bum. That's just bringing negativity home to roost. And if you did keep it for that reason would you really go down a whole coat size in time to wear it this winter? Be better to yourself. Buy what you want. For instance, for dog walking, I wanted a water proof, light weight but solid rain coat, that was roomy so I could layer up under it in winter, durable with deep pockets, multiple pockets, and long sleeves so I could do stuff but keep dry. Not only did I chose a man's coat in the end, but a v large man's coat. I've had this thing nearly 10 years. It goes in the machine from time to time and still looks new. It's a good make, well made, but tkmaxx so q cheap. Think about what you want, look around for it, and please don't shame your body in the meantime. It doesn't help.

I often end up with men's cots as I find women's are too short in the sleeve, However only sporty type coats
