Non foaming shampoo after nanokeratin

I’ve recently had a nanokeratin straightening treatment. I’m really pleased with it and bought the shampoo and conditioner as well. The shampoo doesn’t foam though and I feel like my hair is getting properly clean? So two things - one can I use my normal shampoo and conditioner (usually use Aussie) or will it wreck the treatment and two, any advice on how to make sure my hair is getting properly clean using the product I bought?!

Very another sulphate free shampoo
Elvive in the round red bottle is very good, and I don’t have to use conditioner after.
Usually with sulphate free they leave your hair like very harsh, but not this one.

I think if you use sulphate free shampoo you should be fine,
I’m sure it is cleaning your hair but just with no foam, it’s only the sulphate in it that makes it foam.

Don't use normal shampoo - it's not sulfate free, which I think is what you're trying to avoid. I don't think conditioner has sulfates so you're ok.

Just wait and hang on in there - you will get used to the non-foaming thing in the end and the results are worth it. It's just harder work in the shower to get up a lather!

Thank you - it just feels like the shampoo sits in one bit and no matter how hard I lather it I’m just cleaning a tiny spot on my scalp. I have got incredibly thick hair though (hence the nanokeratin) so maybe I need to use more. It was quite expensive so maybe I’m being a bit too sparing with it 😆

It's not just sulphates you have to avoid with keratin treatments- you need a shampoo without sodium chloride as it basically removes the treatment from the hair. If you don't like the one you're using, some of the Jason range at Holland and Barratt are sodium chloride free. I use the KeraStraight one which foams nicely but is quite pricey.

I have keratin treatment on my horribly dry hair. I use Maria Nila shampoo and conditioner. It's fantastic and doesn't affect the treatment. It was recommended by my hairdresser. Also smells of sweeties!

You can get Jason from amazon too.

I’m always recommending it and other SLS free ones on here. I’m not sure which are salt free as well though.

I've been having nanokeratin for years and have always used Pureology Purify shampoo, it's brilliant at getting hair clean and I buy the 1000ml bottles which works out cost effective. Definitely don't use normal shampoo as it will ruin the treatment.

Thanks - I’ll have a go with a different one from your recommendations once the one I have runs out. I need to get used to non foaming!!
