Silicon-free conditioning treatment

Can anyone recommend anything incredibly conditioning for my poor dry hair?

I only wash with silicon-free shampoo and lukewarm water as it is bleached and dyed turquoise and I find it keeps the colour better.

I’m just building up to doing the roots and changing colour so, as I’m currently on holiday, it seems like a good chance to give it a bit of love.

What would anyone recommend for a treat? I have coconut oil which I use before bleaching but wondered if there’s anything else/better.

This one. The shampoo is also silicone free, but not the regular conditioner. I use this mask as a daily conditioner (recently I've been using it for conditioner only washing), and just leave it on for two or three minutes instead of the 20 you'd do as a weekly mask, but I love it used either way.

Thanks morty. I’ll have a look at that.
I’m cowashing too. (I meant to write conditioner when I put shampoo.)
It’s generally fine but just occasionally it needs something more nourishing.

Btw has anyone tried a mix of coconut oil, honey and avocado? I found a recipe and have all of those in my kitchen right now. (Not sure about the 2 eggs they suggest though)

I use this instead of conditioner for every second wash www.phyto-haircare.co.uk/157564/phytomillesime.html

For the other washes I usually use Aussie conditioner.

That looks good BANS but too expensive for me at the moment.

Doesn’t the Aussie range have silicon in it? I used to use the 3 min miracle but stopped.

I came on to suggest the same as Morty. Garnier have a few other silicon free shampoo and conditioners.

I’ll have a pootle down to Boots tomorrow then and see if they’ve got that one. Thanks

That’s a no on the homemade one?

I use the regular Aussie conditioner rather than the 3 minute ones. I haven't noticed any silicon in them unless it's listed as a different name or they've added it very recently (I tend to buy quite a few bottles when it's on offer).

I get about 5 months out of that Phyto conditioner using it 3 times a week. I don't need a lot of it. But it is a large outlay to start with.

The Cantu range has a whole load of fabulous silicone free deep conditioners, I get them from Superdrug online (free delivery if you open an account). Or just whack a load of almond oil and your usual conditioner on your hair and leave it for an hour or two?

The best thing I've ever done for my hair was a gelatin mask (google curly girl gelatin mask for the details) it felt amazing afterwards. It was literally a sachet of gelatin in warm water and some kind of vinegar. It might be that your hair needs protein rather than moisture, in which case the gelatin would make a huge difference. There's a test you can do to check but I can't remember the details now...something to do with floating a strand of hair in some water. Again, google curly girl protein/ moisture test and you should find it xx

So much useful information. Thanks everyone.
I bought the Argan Oil one recommended above and my hair is now very silky but I will look into the gelatine mask as it’s definitely not healthy (unsurprisingly Smile)
Thanks
