double chin

Probably a daft question but has anyone got any tips for reducing my double chin? It is largely due to weight gain which I am working on losing but also skin is getting saggier as I get older. Any magic tips to tighten the skin or improve the appearance of my chin whilst I try and lose weight?

Smile as much as you can. It lifts and tightens the muscles around the jaw.

Facial yoga helps too. Google it and find a video you like then do it regularly.

The right haircut helps to draw attention away from it.

Unfortunately weight gain is the culprit. I lost a stone and a half in 2017 and got a better jawline as a nice freebie! Even my darling 17 yr old dd has put a few pounds on and has lost her jawline. I have not uttered a word to her, I never comment except to compliment. She is actually only 5’4” and is a very petite build. She has been doing a lot more sport and weight training and as a result is more athletic with more weight. So she is still very fit and healthy but clearly has lbs she could lose to see her face shape.

She sometimes moans about having a “double-chin” but is she never gonna hear from me to lose any weight so I don’t think she realises it would reverse with some weight loss.

Long ramble to say that your face is one of the first places you lose weight from. While I was losing weight the gym I went to was taking measurements, including my neck which I thought so bizarre but I lost two inches from my neck!!!!! If you want cheekbones and a nice profile I’m afraid the chub has to go.

Its not always related to wait gain. I have a double chin and not overweight. I think it is very often a sign of age :(

Well it definitely helps as I am 49 and weight loss helped my double chin tremendously.

Dammit I thought someone might be able to recommend a magic chin tightening cream or chin zapper or something! Weight loss it is then - maybe I should take some measurements Grin

Bin the iPad! I reckon there’ll be a whole generation of people with chins caving in anytime soon, thanks to hours spent on tablets/phones. It’s too late for me, sadly.

I suppose you could get fillers in the area to define the jaw/chin more - if you’re okay with that
