Are M&S school shoes good quality?

I am about to buy the new school shoes for September. I usually go for Startrite which have always lasted well, even with the battering my kids give them.
Looking on line though this year's range doesn't seem very inspiring and obviously they are pretty expensive.
The M&S school shoe range actually looks very nice and are about £10 to £20 cheaper per pair. Does anyone know if they last well? I don't want to save money now if I'm going to have to replace them within a few months.
Thanks!

Bumping this - as I’d like to know to. Also are they generally wide fitting? My DD is a G in clarks.

I would only get Startrite. Had to go to the older boys models this year and Oliver seemed the best. Before that for smaller sizes the Tarantula are brilliant shoes. It's not just the quality and width fittings but the shoes have wider toe boxes for growth room. And they also have flexible soles which I don't think other childrens shoes do. I'm a bit passionate about the right school shoes! The tarantula ones also have a rubber toe cap and they last really well - never had a pair wear out - they just got outgrown. One year we needed some in a hurry and I got Ricosta shoes - they cost quite a bit more, weren't such good quality and fell apart in no time. Personally I'd stick with startrite. Now I did wonder if the spider theme for the tarantula shoes might not go down well as our boy hates spiders. But it was absolutely fine! He associated it with spiderman instead because they weren't real and he thought they were cool.

Also a cheaper option are the Charge ones. They are brilliant - they come in different colours as well as black and we had them for summer trainers. They're not leather but semi waterproof and very hardwearing. On top of that you can chuck them in the washing machine.
