I'm a short size 18 and I'm looking for some inspiration.
I really need some new clothes for the next few months.

I'm a SAHM, early 40s and I'm fine in winter with skinnies, ankle boots and long jumpers or tunic and cardis but Im hopeless with between season dressing.

Footwear is my main problem. I have wide feet. I wear Birkenstocks in summer and can usually find plenty of boots for winter but I'm never sure what to wear that isn't a sandal or boot.

I'd love a thread with ideas and inspiration and links to successful purchases.

Anyone interested?

Yes me! Honestly, every thing that helps focus my style and self-confidence helps!

I'm 41, size 18/20 at 5'6. Been dieting and just over 2 stone gone so far, so that's helping. But my weight gain has been mostly post baby, so my shape has changed and I don't know what to wear any more!!!

My daytime Autumn/Winter wardrobe for work and home was a mix of dresses, cardies, tights and boots or jeans with long sleeved tops/jumpers and boots. Nowadays I haven't a clue about anything except jeans or leggings with huge tops and I just know that is frumpy and only looks like I'm trying to hide myself.

Love to hear from others and get tips!

It's difficult when your shape changes. The same thing happened to me post-children. I've always been overweight to some degree but it used to be more evenly distributed. Now I am definitely quite top heavy and it's trickier.

I agree on the change of shape being really hard. I’m a 16/18 although slowly losing weight but my shape being so different has made dressing tougher than the weight gain alone.

I do love autumn dressing though and find it the easiest season to dress for. This year I will be wearing straight jeans, rolled slightly over flat ankle boots or trainers, with really good quality jersey tops (Cos, Baukjen, Splendid, J Crew, Hush etc) and blazers or leather jackets. I have also just bought the Hush Marina skirt in black and I am now obsessed with floaty midi skirts which I will wear with jumpers and boots or trainers.

Size 14/16 and mid weight loss. I was a size 18 last winter and 20 last autumn. My shape change has forced me to try outfits I would have never considered previously.

Autumn was a mix of straight leg jeans (rolled up), 7/8 trousers, wrap dresses and skirts (must be lined). I mixed them all with good quality basic tops in a mix of plain and stripes and teamed with a well fitting blazer on dry days, knitwear and spring rain coat (cream fisherman style) on wet days. Ankle boots and brogues mid week.

Looking at much of the same this year as felt smart but easy to pull together.
