Help I've ruined my hair - advice please

Hi I really need some advice on my hair please.

My natural colour is a medium brown but I had it a very dark brown (almost black) for several years and then I fancied a change. Some hairdressers I went to refused to strip my hair and the ones that would were quoting way over my budget so (stupidly I know) I bought those colour removers from Boots. It took a few packets but I lightened my hair enough to be able to colour it a lovely medium copper shade but here's the issue...

There was a big patch of hair where the colour wouldn't come out for some reason, from my ear down on the right hand side, and so I used one of those ombre kits on it and it worked but I think I have really ruined my hair.

Every time I colour my hair, the dye doesn't take to this patch. So where the rest of my hair is a medium copper this bit remains a very ashy blonde colour with a hint of green and I can't even cut it out without going for a pixie cut. I have tried protein masks and deep conditioning but nothing is working.

Are there any MNers who have any tips or will I have to just grow it out or do what I should've done in the beginning and go to the hairdressers Blush)

I'd go to the hairdressers if i were you and i speak as someone who whacked a load of Sunin in the front of my hair and turned it ginger a couple of months ago and have subsequently cut in a very short fringe and will probably have to bleach out the remaining (thankfully small) section of ginger. I've vowed NEVER to touch my hair again with dyes. Ever.

Is it small enough that you can style it out with unicorn coloured hair mascara, until it's grown enough to cut it? Might not work if you have a very formal job...

Go to the hairdressers - at least get them to give you a conditioning treatment

Thanks, I tend to try and avoid hairdressers as I've not had good experiences but then I messed up myself so ... Blush if needs must.

@MessySurfaces it's a palm width and about 10 inches long and I although my job is relaxed enough I could, I'm in my 30s do don't think rainbow hair would be a good look but thanks Grin
