Been given a Crew clothing pair of jeans and am very impressed. Is Crew a brand that I've been missing out on? Or is it past its sell by date?

Am mid 30s and wanted some smart dark everyday maybe work on Fridays jeans, but nothing flashy. Are Crew a no no?

I'm in my 20s and I wear their rugby shirts, I know everyone thinks they are v.unflattering, but I love them. They are really good quality, and wash well.

I think quite a lot of people think Crew is for the older lady however, if you look good in it, and the quality is good, keep buying from there 😊

I wear bits and pieces from crew clothing and I'm in my twenties. Some of it is a bit grim but some is lovely and like you say, it's really good quality.

I like their polo shirts and jumpers but had to stop buying them because my MIL wears them and I don’t want to dress like a 70-year-old woman (and DH was creeped out by his wife and Mum wearing the same clothes)!

I wear their jeans and chinos. Great fit and wash well. I also have a number of their sweat shirts and t shirt / Breton tops.. all lovely.

They often have stuff in TK Maxx, I like their t-shirts!

TeaAddict235 · 02/08/2018 07:55

Phew! Good to know. I thought that maybe my tastes were off or something due to general dissatisfaction with the high street. Their quality is surprisingly good. I've spotted a few more things from them, so I might investigate. I might have a nosey in TK Max too now @RedPandaMama thank you.

The quality is absolutely fab. The designs are unfortunately often rather frumpy. I reckon their target market is "middle-aged preppy woman" and I think they probably suit tall, athletic women with straight-ish figures the best. I find that they often look frumpy on me because they aren't really designed for hourglasses, so waists tend to be baggy and often not enough room for breasts! Otherwise I would buy more from them - their stuff is very practical, colours and prints are not as garish or "giant toddler" as Boden/Seasalt type ones often are, and they wash and wear brilliantly.

Notquiteagandt · 02/08/2018 12:38

Im 29. I have some of their rugby shirts for just slobbing about in. As well as a pair of countryboots from there I constantly get complimented on.

I wouldnt wear head to toe. But their are some ok pieces

Deffiantly fall into the comfy and practical catorgory though rather than style.

Watchingtheworldgoby · 02/08/2018 13:21

I have bought fromthem but as a woman in my forties, I feel the clothes age me and are for older women than me tbh. I agree the quality is very good but I think they might suit your mum or grandma more than a young woman so no I don’t think you have missed out. Quite the contrary.

MinesaPinot · 02/08/2018 13:43

I think they're a bit 'ladies of a certain age from the golf club' if you know what I mean (sorry to any MN's who fit into that category!).

Having said that, I've got some really nice cropped trousers and a work dress from there, and also what my DH likes to call my 'bodywarmer' - sleeveless padded gilet with a fur edged hood that I throw on over my Hush hoodie when I want an extra layer.

I'm 55 by the way

TeaAddict235 · 02/08/2018 17:43

Ok, have to admit now that I'm watching 3 items on EBay. This could end messily....

Thank you for all of your advice.
