I hate glasses and lenses make me feel weird. Has anyone had laser surgery? I've read some awful reviews and it worries me. I'm 40 this year

Thanks Miss. We’ve tried them, in vain. He has Aspergers but more importantly at the moment, rampant OCD. He cannot touch anything bodily and wet. Sound odd but, it’s how it is. I’m at my wits end because I feel he’s ruining his eyesight further by refusing to wear his glasses.

If it's any comfort, not wearing his glasses is unlikely to harm his eyesight further. I think it's just young children with a 'lazy eye' that have improvements with glasses wear. For the rest of us, all that happens is we can't see properly while we're not wearing them.

Unless he drives without them of course. That would be a problem!

@Cakefairy1978 - I was 40. No halo problem. Don't forget you will only read about problems, people don't generally post unless they have issues so don't pay too much attention to negative reviews.

I had it done at 30..... 12 years ago. Was a -7.5. THE BEST thing I ever did. amazing. I had thin corneas so had epi-Lasik. More discomfort than normal I am told but would do it a 1000 times over.

I mentioned above I was -11 in one eye. It all depends on the thickness of your cornea on whether or not you can do it for higher prescriptions.

I had dry eyes initially but that's not a problem really a month in. I do have a halo effect but I was told to expect that for the first few months. My doc said it was rare to have it permanently.

It's not that bad - I can still drive at night and I had one anyway!

Thanks for asking this @Cakefairy1978 , I'm curious about it too.

Was the procedure painful? Do you have to stay awake? Can it go wrong?
