Pastel de nata.
Cork bags.
Port.
Ceramics.

Beauty products surprisingly expensive.

The almond liqueur.

Piri piri salt.

My Portuguese friends could guess this is me from this post alone 😂

We have Sephora here, if that’s somewhere you’re interested in. There are some lovely soaps in quite retro packaging, can’t remember the name offhand. La Roche Posay is easily available and often on 3 for 2 type offers - I’ll have a think about any more

Retro packaged tinned fish. Especially if you can find the spicy tuna or the trout with Port.

I do get a lovely spicy tuna pate! And of course pastel de nata goes without saying! Thanks for the suggestions.

And how could I forget Ginja! And you can buy the (miniature!) chocolate teacups to drink it from in large supermarkets

Gahbahboo · 26/07/2018 10:22

What's ginja?

Ginja is a red headed ninja.

Grin

It's a liquer made from cherries and fortified wine. You can buy it in the supermarket but the really good stuff is sold in farmers markets (generally has less sugar). Traditionally you drink it from a chocolate teacup (which of course you eat afterwards)

Dried oregano from the market stalls. If you are in the algarve Loule had a lovely market. I buy a big bag and it lasts a long time. Great sprinkled on tomato salad, Greek salad etc.

Also olive oil in cans with vintage designs.

Pottery is good. Head to Porches on the Algarve.
