These boots with a skirt or dress?

Would you wear these boots with a skirt or dress? And if so, any suggestions as to what style dress/skirt?

I am loving wearing skirts and dresses in this weather with flip flops or sandals but I am clueless as to how I will translate this to winter time. All suggestions appreciated!

Nope, but then I wouldn't wear them at all. They'd be fine if they didn't have the chunky soles, but they look like the kind of boots you'd wear with a tunic and hose, I can't see them working with a dress.
However, pointy toed ankle boots, pixie boots and combat boots would all look fine, depending on how you style them. My favourite outfit over the winter involved a high necked, long flared sleeve black top, a long black skirt, and pointy toed black ankle boots. Very witchy, but that was the vibe I was going for. Fly do a similar pair with a slightly higher sole/heel - I think they're called Salv. I have some but only wear trousers, but my colleague wears them too with either knee length or just above the knee dresses and skirts and looks fabulous in them.

Thanks all. I'll get them anyway for jeans and see how I feel about them with a skirt. I thought they might work because they are low so my legs wouldn't look too tree trunk-y.

Just a thought - If you’re worried about tree-trunky legs (I get that too!) look for ankle boots with a v cut out at the front rather than cut straight across the ankle, instant leg lengthener.

Agree with this.
They are not stylish in any way at all, but would probably look even worse with a dress than jeans.

I’d wear them with a dungaree dress or a knitted bodycon dress and bright tights. And, apparently, mumsnet would think I looked shit, but I don’t think I mind.

I think they're ugly sorry.

MoltonSilver · 26/07/2018 00:48

They look like they've been run over by a car. Sorry.
