No not the end of the world

  • it's not visible
  • you could get an implant in future if you really really wanted
  • you are still you, with all your good points/ abilities/ sense of humour etc
  • the people who love you still love you just as you would still love them and tell them not to be silly if the same thing happened to them
  • we soldier on through life and enjoy the little pleasures along the way and the alternative to doing this is far far worse
  • was it Greta Garbo or Marlene who had some back teeth removed to make her cheekbones look sharper
  • be kind to yourself
-and we all completely understand you feeling anxious about it

(hope this helps Wine)

I am missing that same tooth on both sides at the bottom. It felt like a total violation having them out, but no-one notices. I had been through so much to try and keep them that I know it was the right choice. If it helps any, my lovely dentist told me that those are the most common teeth people have to have extracted because they take so much force.

Another one with the same missing tooth on both sides. Two of my friends have the same.

I've had four teeth pulled out and there still isn't room for my wisdom teeth. I don't think it makes a difference if it isn't a front tooth.

Thanks everyone. Now talk me through the pain....

Oh, I also had four howked out when I was about 11 because my teeth are huge, and they were going to end up all crooked and crowded.

queen you will be well numbed up and shouldn’t feel any pain, just presssure. It is a weird sensation. I had one of mine out this time last year and it was a “difficult extraction” (had to be removed in bits) but even then it was over in less than half an hour, including the injections and waiting on them taking effect. I was in at 10.30 and had a hair appointment at 1pm, out for dinner the following night. You will be grand.

I have had a nightmare year with my teeth (knackered a load of them with bruxism caused by stress) but they are actually the thing I get most compliments on, even with the gaps!
