Not had my hair cut or coloured in about a year- hairdresser asked me to describe what I want doing and I don't know how to explain it.. is it an ombre?
I usually just have highlights, trying something different

Yes ombré :)

lplo · 20/07/2018 19:18

You won't get this effect in one sitting thought

LadyOfTheCanyon · 20/07/2018 19:18

Ooooo that's gorgeous. Hair like that gives me the deepest bonce envy.

LiDLrichardsPistachioSack · 20/07/2018 19:21

Just take them that picture!
Of course that can be achieved in one sitting (if your hair doesn’t have any previous dark colour)

Bingbangboo1 · 20/07/2018 19:24

My hair is the same colour as the ladies with previous highlights throughout so shouldn't be too hard to get a bit lighter
Thanks everyone

It’s Balayage. Ask for a gradual darker route. Show them the photo.

ShowOfHands · 20/07/2018 19:26

Why wouldn't you just show them the picture?!

Bingbangboo1 · 20/07/2018 20:00

She wants to know how long it will take hence explaining it to her as it's a very busy salon jheeze

It's ombré and looks as though the colour has been applied with the balayage technique. I'd show the colourist the photo.

It just looks like grown out colour. Is that really what they charge the best part of £100 for . Blimey.
