Breast uplift with no implants ?

Has anyone ever had one later in life. I’m 47, and a combination of breastfeeding my son 20 years ago , plus weight loss and gain over the years has made my boobs a bit droopy and thin at the top. They aren’t huge (30E ish) and I’m more than happy with the size. Due to a regular fitness regime I’m currently maintaining a consistent size 10 and I’m told I look young for my age. I’d be happier with younger looking boobs though, they look fine in a bra just a bit dejected without!

My husband thinks I’m mad and they are fine as they are.

I’ve read conflicting reports about the results where no implants are used. I really don’t fancy the idea of implants if I’m honest. Any experiences would be very welcome.

Nothing to share but my breasts are a bit sad looking too (and very uncomfortable without a bra). Watching and bumping.

My husband laughingly calls them spaniels ears 😂😂 but he says they are fine, after all his goolies are a bit saggy at the age of 53!

It’s not having any huge impact on my life and I’m not hankering after my youth, in fact it feels a little self indulgent thinking this way when some people are forced into breast operations due to cancer. I would never have been able to afford it before now , due to the cost of raising DS, and getting him through uni is my priority financially !

I think if you want to do it, go for it, but be realistic in your expectations. I've not had it done but did consider it for a while. Changed my mind because decided I'd rather spend the money on something else, plus have a 15 year old so need to get him through university in a few years.
I really don't know why I've whittled on, but want to say, do what makes you happy

I looked into this (also because of damage done from breastfeeding) and it seemed that if the issue is that your breasts are deflated looking and droopy as in the skin is drooping... then an uplift would not actually do much for the appearance and they would suggest implants to fill out the skin. As far as I could tell an uplift on its own would not be great for damage done from breastfeeding and would be better for women whos breasts drooped due to size or had drooped gradually over time.
Thats why I personally decided against it because I didnt really want implants but from everything I read it seemed that implants would be what was suggested rather than just a lift.
I do have quite small breasts though 34B... the issue being that they swelled in size during breastfeeding then deflated after leaving lots of loose skin and making them droop.
It may be different for you though as you have larger breasts.

Haribo thanks for the opinion, I’d heard similar. I’m not desperate or unhappy, I might look into it hence I’m interested in opinions. Rightknockered thanks too.

From my experience (of watching a lot of cosmetic surgery tv!) I think you need a lot of breast tissue and be willing to go smaller if you want to do it without implants. Only a surgeon could tell you though.

Look at the lollipop lift though.

Floozymum · 19/07/2018 22:01

It can be done but it depends what you have to begin with. If you lack volume on the upper half of your breast then you won't get a great result. Getting your breasts but 'perkier' isn't really achievable after breast feeding unless you use an implant, or your breasts are still very large but droopy. I'd imagine most surgeons would suggest that you didn't go ahead with it as the scar to result ratio wouldn't be worth it anyway.

I'm a nurse who works for a cosmetic surgeon and I see a lot of women post BF who go for a very small implant these days, sometimes even without the uplift.

All welcome opinions thanks

I work in plastic surgery and this is something we do. It does help to have a larger starting size which it sounds like you do. You're best to meet with a surgeon though.

I had a breast lift on one breast, last week but the reason is I had breast cancer in one breast after 2 lumpectomies and a month of radiation my breast was nice and perky and I'd say a cup size less, I had non cancer breast lifted no implants last week at the moment it's plastered up so I can't see the scarring, but my dr showed me lots of photos of before and after I'm grand with scarring as I found it very hard to deal with a nice perky breast and a saggy large one I'm delighted at the moment as they both are lifted and round now I know it's early days but I'm thrilled.

I'm 47 also

MoorMummy · 20/07/2018 14:35

Oh bob ! I’m so glad you are happy with your outcome . See, this is why I feel silly for even worrying , you’ve been through a lot from the sounds of it and I’m just being vain ! I really hope your healing goes well and you are happy with the final result .Smile

Mine are like spaniels ears but I find that adding muscle to the chest area does make things look more youthful.
