Please help me with my make up obsession

I know we ladies are always interested in beauty, especially on forums such as this and like to try out new products and things. But I feel I have a problem. Its not just a problem with buying make up, to be honest I hardly spend any money it as what I use lasts me ages. I don't have numerous colours of lipsticks and eyeliners etc, I just have one shade of everything and I only wear foundation, blusher, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick.

However, I obsess about what to use. I can find something that suits me and then I worry about it not being the right shade or formula, being too expensive or not good enough quality,.

I love Clinique but I am worried about buying it. I can afford it now but I worry about what if a time comes when I can't afford it so whats the point in getting used to it now, I may aswell buy something cheaper. I am the same with toiletries and hair products too but moreso with make up.

My favourite Clinique lipstick is now £21, which is nearly as much as their foundation but as I said I do only use one shade. I could get two No7 lipsticks at £10 and pay the same money, though I know they do often offers on at No7.

I do like No7 make up too but I feel better with Clinique. How can I just buy what I like and stick to it? I am forever getting samples of the foundations and obsessing about which one to use, I can imagine the sales assistants in Boots are fed up with me hovering around.

Can anyone advise me please?

There will always be nice things to buy. And equally, things get discontinued.
Get what you a)can afford and b)suits you.

Thing is, you don't have to stick to one variety of everything. If you like makeup and you can afford it, then it's perfectly okay to have multiple shades of lipstick, blush, eyeshadow, etc.

I recommend breaking yourself into newer shades with cheaper makeup though - try brands in Superdrug like MUA, Collection, etc. Most bits won't be more than £3. That way you can get a better sense of what colours you might like, then invest in a nicer product later. :)

Forgot to add KIKO! Cheap but great quality, and they have an insane amount of trendy colours to try.

Thanks for your replies. I actually only like one shade of lipstick etc, nude shades only suit me and black/brown eyeliner.
