Would the average woman like this for their 21st? Thanks

Wondering if it looks too mature for a young woman? She is newly pregnant with her first child and I thought the two interlocked circles, one being bigger and one being smaller, would have nice symbolism about it... She's not a big jewellery wearer but I thought this would be nice for occasional wear. This one is Kit Heath but there is a Links of London one (slightly dearer) but I've read the packaging on the latter is not so attractive.

Can I get opinions?
Thanks - I appreciate it.

Hi OP, I'm turning 21 soon and I'm afraid to say neither me or my friends would wear that! It's very nice but not something we'd choose to put on.

However, only you know her style and if she'd like it! Could you ask any of her family/friends etc for opinions?

ShmooBooMoo · 13/07/2018 16:45

Thanks itsBritneyBeach I appreciate your honesty! Smile Could I ask what kind of thing you would wear?

I just wear simple things so a small silver heart on a plain chain like this! A lot of my friends wear similar, many of them like the Tiffany necklace with the two small hearts on, one pink and one silver Grin

my niece is 21 and it wouldnt really be her style either OP. shes quite "indie" and "cool" Grin and loves the current trend of rope bracelets. The ones that look cheap tat but cost a fortune Hmm. something like this

I like it, but I'm not 21! To be honest, I'd be tempted to go for vouchers instead unless you know her very well, as jewellery is so personal. If you do know her tastes well enough, then would something secondhand from a local jewellery shop be something she would be interested in? My teen loves pandora, but she also loves 'vintage', and it may mean you get something more valuable for the price.

KnobJockey · 13/07/2018 18:38

My teen would also probably like the top bracelet, but I don't think I'd buy it as a special present, as it's not going to last for years, IYKWIM? That's something that in a year or two will be out of fashion and probably not worn.

I think the issue lies in the term ‘the average woman’.

No such thing.

WonderfulWonders · 13/07/2018 18:45

I'm not sure that there's any such thing as an average 21 yr old Smile

Fashions change and I think if you buy something good quality it will always have its time.

I'm double the age you're looking at but over the years I've been bought lots of jewellery and whilst it's not always been exactly what I'd have chosen I've worn it all at some point over the past 25 years.

Diaryofalways87 · 13/07/2018 18:52

I'm not 21, but I think something like this might be better. It also symbolises the growth of a new family:

uk.pandora.net/en/necklaces/necklaces-with-pendants/tree-of-love-necklace/396582ENMX.html?cgid=d74386f3-3f72-4708-8440-a0c9008dbac5&src=categorySearch#src=categorySearch&position=top&start=14&cgid=d74386f3-3f72-4708-8440-a0c9008dbac5

I'm quite alternative in my taste though so it depends on her own style obviously.

TakeAChanseyOnMe · 13/07/2018 18:54

I’d say not jewellery. I got an expensive charm bracelet for my 21st but I hate wearing bracelets. She might too if she’s going to be a new mum.

I know it’s boring but could you ask her what she’d like? I personally think vouchers are the best present.

Are you close? You could get her a hotel voucher with an IOU babysitting.

FatBarry · 13/07/2018 18:58

DD is 21 she wouldn't like it, but she does have the exact Tiffany necklace @itsBritneybeach shows with an added Tiffany key on it, and has worn them religiously since being 15 and 18 respectively.
