Fluffy face😩

I’m 47 and have developed a very fluffy face- now I’m tanned the blonde fur all over my cheeks/sideburns/chin is so obvious. It’s not suitable for laser treatment though. What are others experiences of hair removal in this area? Threading? Waxing? I’m terrified of doing something that makes it worse or stubbly ( at least it’s currently soft). Any honest advice gratefully received as it’s really getting me down ( pardon the pun)

Thanks nellmangle~ think I’m going to try a jml flawless.

Personally I'd recommend an epilator painful at first but far less regrowth and not as "stubbly" when it does come through. Hair is much finer.

I have the Braun one I got it from Boots (happy to get the points ) it does take some getting used to as it is painful to start and sometimes the little hairs are blighters to get out so you have to go over the same place a few times and your face maybe a little red afterwards. Also I read the reviews beforehand and a lot of buyers complained about the battery life - I therefore used some rechargeable batteries so you don't go through as many and if one loses its fizz mid defuzz you can pop in the next charged one

I would recommend getting laser hair removal done, I was contemplating getting it done on my underarm/bikini areas but I wouldn't personally get it done as I'm currently pregnant and there's a small percentage of it coming back if you go through either pregnancy/menopause.

However if you were to opt for laser, they do shave the face prior to doing so.

IHateBananaStrings · 10/07/2018 15:59

I shaved mine and yes, DH felt the stubble and commented on it! I dont do it now, i just use hair lightener on it, fortunately its not too hairy!

Argh stubble is my big fear!!! Going to carry on with epistick . Shaved under my chin and now I have a spot!

I get a full face thread every few weeks, £10 with self employed beautician based at her house.

Ace.

Thank you so much for this thread - I have been fretting since seeing my lovely but fuzzy aunt last week, but now I feel better for knowing there are options!

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 11/07/2018 22:29

God, that Epistick looks painful though.

VanGoghsDog · 12/07/2018 01:17

I can't make the spring thing work. Changed to tinkle razor and it's great. No stubble, easy to use, cleansing and make up all works better without hair clogging it up. Mine came off like balls of tumbleweed!

thebird93 · 12/07/2018 19:36

I use two types, epistick and jml thingy. I find the epistick is far more effective than anything else (there is a knack to it). For the fluff I can't seem to pick up with the epi stick I use the JML. I haven't found it to an issue when growing back stubbly or thicker, it comes through much the same. Intrigued by the razor blade method now 😱

Nectarinenotpeach · 19/07/2018 16:45

Thanks for comments! I researched dermaplaning and found somewhere local ( not that many places do it). Had it done Monday and it was FAB!!!!!! A lovely facial with a scalpel GrinVery relaxing and I cannot believe how smooth my face is now..... like a baby’s bottom😍

I use the spring thing too as I have quite a hairy chin naturally! It's not completely pain free but really not that bad. You need to bend it then twist the ends to make it catch the hairs.

EnidButton · 19/07/2018 18:08

The twisty thing did nothing for me so I use those eyebrow razors now. Very easy, quick and gets rid of every last bit of fluff. Zero difference texture wise when it grows back. Just have to be careful to clean them thoroughly, and never use a blunt one, as I'm prone to spots.
Otherwise they're perfect.

Should say mine is very fine short down/fluff. No thick proper hairs. If that makes sense. So no stubbly regrowth.
