Wedding: practical but not dowdy?

Urgh. I need help!

We have a destination wedding at the end of August to a very hot country. My DH can't come so I will be looking after 4 small children on my own (and I don't know any one except the bride and groom!)

My dilemma: I'm breastfeeding a newborn, so need to have something (wrap? Zip? Buttons? Two piece?) with easy access. It is a garden party (so no heels!) and it will be BOILING.

I'm 5'11, size 10 but with a bit of a mum-pouch (baby is only 6 weeks old) and in my late twenties.

I just feel so frumpy and dumpy and mum-haggard. Please help me find something to wear! Budget is south of £80 if possible... thank you a million!

Something like this? Looks like you could pull the neckline to one side, and the cut looks forgiving for a mum tum! www.riverisland.com/p/yellow-stripe-twist-front-maxi-dress-721695

Best advice I can give is young Can I Breastfeed in It on Facebook, stacks of ideas there.

*Is join... weird typo there

What about something like this pretty, cool for the warm weather and will go with a nice pair of flat sandals, you could always wear s vest top underneath vest up dress down to breastfeed and it won’t break the bank.

Ooh, they're both nice. I have a penchant for mustard!

The grey one is probably more weddingy though (it will be a very traditional wedding)

Thanks so much:)

There are quite a few nice wrap dresses on that website and all reasonable prices.

I like riverisland dress!

pinkgardening, great recommendation of the fb page. Thank you! Loads of great ideas. Matalan of all places has some nice dresses?! Thanks agai.

Great! I found it useful to see the different ways in which people feed, I would have just lived in wrap tops if I hadn't seen more options!

cakeandteajustforme · 09/07/2018 19:36

I would maybe go with a long skirt and a top? Can still look dressy but slightly less faff to breastfeed in? For a destination wedding last year I bought what looked like a jumpsuit but it was really high waist trousers and a top in the same fabric (patterned to hide random child related accidents) and it was super easy to just lift the top to discreetly feed the baby.

I wore a high low skirt and top from coast last summer to an abroad wedding (same height as you).
They look fab and are surprisingly cool.

This and there's lots in the sale/ebay
