Anyone got any ideas, please?

you can feed wearing anything!

any smocky thing will do if that's what you fancy

MissGolightly · 26/05/2007 21:57

I can't help with online but I got all my breast-feeding kit in two swoops to H&M and Monsoon.

H&M in particular was brill, especially because you won't be bfing forever so no point in wasting too much cash.

tassis · 26/05/2007 22:00

why do you need BFing tops?

my only issue with all my tops was the fact that my post preg tummy bulged over my jeans and all my tops were fitted and as my boobs were bigger they rode up - not v attractive

my solution was to buy a few new tops in the next size up

but you've just had a baby so you deserve new clothes!

enjoy your little one...enjoy feeding...wear whatever!

whomovedmychocolate · 26/05/2007 22:02

I just buy M&S t shirts TBH. The pretty smock types tend to be too fitted over the boobs to hoick up and get yer norks out

MissGolightly · 26/05/2007 22:10

but tassis it's depends what shape you were before/after. I used to wear a lot of fitted clothes, there's no way I could have physically got a boob out of either the top or the bottom when I was feeding DS. And some clothes you can get a boob out but only by exposing 45% of the rest of your body.

So I don't think it's quite true to say you can feed wearing anything. Somethings are definitely more practical than others.

Having said that I agree that custom-made bfing tops are a waste of money - they cost a fortune and seem to be made the like dance of the 7 veils. Nothing wrong with an ordinary shirt!

Pannacotta · 26/05/2007 22:16

Wasn't looking for special bfeeding tops, tried those last time and didn't like them, but agree with MissG I can't wear my pre-pregnancy tops for feeding, as they are all fitted and pulling them up means exposing way too much of my body. I won't mind so much in a while but its been 2 weeks since giving birth and I need some loose but pretty tops to wear for the summer. Will check out H&M, did look there recently but will have another look.
Any more for any more?

Pannacotta - I buy the long sizes of tops (surprisingly Topshop are quite good for this) and they fit better when you have large norks/need to pop one out because they drape over your tummy.

whomovedmychocolate · 27/05/2007 04:55

Ooh and you could try La Redoute.

fillyjonk · 27/05/2007 06:35

you need bigger normal tops imo

best combination is cardi/shirt / coat / whatever + largish t shirt (remember v neck rule)

popsycal · 27/05/2007 06:38

Buy tons of vest top t shirts that can be worn under any top

hoik up your top and pull the vest top down at the neck to feed
covers belly

incy · 27/05/2007 10:50

boden top

Pannacotta · 27/05/2007 11:27

Realised about the bfeeding on line thing after I posted
Can't do the vest thing under tops as I get too hot, the long tops from Top Shop is a great idea, hadnt thought of that, thanks wmmchoc...
What is the v neck rule fillyjonk?

primark have lots of long t shirts in at the minute for silly money

kikidee · 27/05/2007 20:06

Hello Pannacotta, this thread could have been started by me! My DD is 10 weeks old and I have been hunting for bf friendly tops. "I have just bought something like this but mine was only £40 but not on-line unfortunately"
"I also have this" but still looking for more.

BaffledByBabyTights · 27/05/2007 20:10

I never got on with the jojo bf tops - all those poppers to undo and do up just draw more attention to the whole thing. I have a great blooming marvellous one, which has hidden flaps and means that the duvet tummy stays well and truly covered - and it has lasted 3 dc.

Pannacotta · 27/05/2007 20:28

Kikidee, the link didn't work can you describe the R Island top or link again? Thanks
Will check out Primark...
BBBT, is your Bl Marv top like any they sell now? Agree re the Jojo tops with the poppers/layers etc, also they LOOK like bfeeding tops which is no good IMO...

Sorry! If you select summer tops, it will show 29 items and the top is number 18 and has a little "love this" heart marker on it. It's the checked smock top priced £21.99.

Pannacotta · 28/05/2007 15:51

very nice kikidsee, they have a few things which might work...

Thanks Pbabble, these both look fab, am going to place some orders, the Next top looks ideal for feeding and the Mamaway tops look good too.
