Hello!
Please help me! I'm a total frump and would like to jazz up my wardrobe while I try to lose weight. I feel it might give me a bit of a boost and encourage me to take better care of myself.

So, I used to have quite a rock/punk style but don't feel that it translates well into fat 30 something! I would like a bit of an alternative edge, I love unusual things, unusual prints and patterns. I'm not afraid of colour but do wear quite a lot of black with bright accessories atm. I'm a size 18, 5 foot 3 and my weight is mainly round my middle and my face. Please help me! I would love suggestions for clothes/accessories that will help me be funky rather than frumpy, and reflect my love of the odd and artistic.

Budget is an issue too, must be reasonably priced unfortunately!!!

Hey Caramel! I recommend you start following some plus size fashion bloggers on Instagram. Doesn’t have to be only plus size, but I think there’s nothing like seeing other bodies that look like your own dresses in brilliant, fashionable clothing for gaining confidence and getting new inspiration, and seeing things on that you never would have considered before.

I highly reccomend Bethany Rutter. She’s a style blogger and has even designed a couple of collections for navabi.co.uk

She always looks really funky and modern and she rejects the ‘rules’ applied to fat and plus size women when it comes to fashion. Also, Danielle vanier is worth a look - she’s funny and beautiful! And Callie Thorpe. They all have blogs as well as instagrams. If you google them you will find some good stuff.

ASOS have one of the very best curve ranges available. But it would be a good idea to try some trends on in other stores first to see what works for you.

Ooo hope you get lots of advice OP.

I'm following with interest.

I always envy ladies who can put a look together effortlessly.

My friend is tall and willowy and really rocks the 'Lagan look' however as a size 18 5'7
50 something I look like a pregnant bag lady in Lagen Look.
