How Long does it take you to get ready?

I did post this in chat but thought I’d get more responses here!

How long does it take you to get ready in the mornings?

And for a night out?

Do you style your hair/full face make up everyday?

I want to look more polished on a daily basis, but for a night out it takes me 2+ hours sometimes! 🙈

Any tips on cutting down getting ready time whilst still looking well groomed?

An hour for work, shower, make up, hair straightening and breakfast. If I’m going out sometimes up to two. Drives me nuts, wish I could do it in 15 mins like DP!

I leave myself about an hour for work, with clothes laid out and checked on the previous evening. If I’m away my bag is packed the day before too. Car always filled the day before. Train tickets usually collected in advance.
Tea in bed, glance at papers. Bath, read emails whilst drying and eating breakfast. Dress. Blow dry hair but not ‘styled’ just dried. A light touch of makeup. Brush teeth. Maybe a brooch or simple earrings.

Final check of work bag, tickets, postcode, phone etc. Then off. I could rush and do it quicker but that ends up far more stressful with things being forgotten.

Going out about thirty minutes. Shower. Dry (sometimes hair dry but not usually) . Throw something on. Touch of mascara and lipstick. Go.

For work, about 20 minutes from eyelids opening to out the door.

For a night out, anything up to 3 hour’s. Depends how special it is.Smile

Getting ready for work every morning, shower + wash hair + facial cleansing + body lotion + blow-dry + light make up = 1 hour.

At weekends it takes a little longer as I like to add in some exfoliation + deep conditioning hair masque, and little touches like curling my eyelashes.

On a night out I do all of the above + employ a very talented make-up artist i.e. teenage DD Smile

Quick bath, do hair, dressed and makeup.

20 minutes tops.

Same for a night out.

It's usually DH I'm waiting for as he fannies about with something or other.

For those that take 1-2 hours, do you have kids?! I have two preschool kids and cannot imagine the joy of having that much time. I take about 30mins including shower time!

Millipedewithherfeetup · 30/06/2018 09:52

I'm not a morning person so I need to be up at least 1.5 hours before leaving the house...showering and make up take probably 15 mins the rest of the time is spent staring into space/drinking coffeeGrin night out around an hour for shower hair and make up.

Claricestarling1 · 30/06/2018 09:55

Weekdays I leave an hour and a half to get ready for work - shower including washing hair everyday, blow dry and straighten hair, makeup, choose and iron clothes. For nights out it takes up to 2 hours in summer as have to get legs and toenails to an acceptable standard 😂

eggandspoonrace · 30/06/2018 09:58

1 hour ideally. 45 minutes absolute minimum if in a rush. 1.5-2 hours of faffing for big event

Bubba1234 · 30/06/2018 10:03

Morning about 25 mins. Quick body shower pack my bag run around looking for socks pack a lunch of whatever I can throw into the bag etc I’m never organized.
I put my make up on in work but sometimes I don’t bother to let my skin breathe.

Bubba1234 · 30/06/2018 10:05

A night out about 45 mins washing hair and putting on more makeup than usual I usually know exactly what I’m wearing on a night out it’s part of the fun

Piccolino2 · 30/06/2018 10:16

An hour and 15 mins from waking up to totally ready, this includes, shower, choosing clothes, bag, jewellery, washing and blow drying hair daily and make up. I have 2 preschool kids so just try to get up earlier than them to at least shower and do hair in peace. I often do make up while they are eating breakfast. I do find mornings stressful.

On a night out, it's usually 15 mins to find clothes and slap on some new makeup over the old while I'm wrangling the kids into bed before handing over to the Babysitter. Gosh how I miss 2 hours to get ready, drinking wine, bath. Sigh

It takes me about an hour in the morning. I have a bath, do face mask, exfoliate full body and moisturise full body, do a face mask etc. For a night out about two hours.

It used to take longer but instead of spending ages doing an emergency grooming session once a week I now ensure I do at least one thing a day. I also have my brows microbladed, lash extensions and ensure my hair is in good condition so it takes less time to look good iyswim. With those basics done I can happily leave the house with no makeup and still look decent.

rightknockered · 30/06/2018 10:40

15 to 20 minutes on a week day, this includes shower but not morning coffee when I like to catch up on emails and scream at the kids to get dressed. If going out, then an hour and at weekends I barely get dressed if not going anywhere. I wear makeup usually but not a lot, just a touch of tinted moisturiser, mascara, blush and tinted lip balm/lipstick. If going out, I put on a full face including foundation, eyeshadow, and lip pencil and lipstick to add to my daily face. Hair is wavy so I just wash it a couple of evenings a week and leave to dry in a turban overnight, then scrunch in the morning.
It's taken me a while to perfect this low maintenance look, used to take hours pre children straightening my hair etc.
Always lay out clothes night before, make sure nails are done and not chipped.

holycityzoo · 30/06/2018 11:16

About 15 mins in the morning and about and hour and a half for a night out.
