Pretty sandals for orthotic wearers

I will take my insoles out, of course, but just wondered if anyone else with dodgy feet can recommend any pretty sandals with an arch or good support? I rebelled and bought some lovely sandals from Marks today but am taking them straight back as they are completely flat at the bottom and I know they will cause me problems.

I've just ordered a pair from Gumbies- not tried them yet. I suppose they are more flip flops though. Supposedly have arch support though.

Fit flops have some nice sparkly styles

Lots of sandals on www.cheerfulsoles.co.uk/comfortable-sandals.html (sorry, no idea how to do links). Algeria ones I know have removable insoles that can be replaced by orthotics.

Like these? I have really flat feet, plantar fascitis and hypermobiliy, and my MIL has arthritis in her feet and has had lots of surgery on them, and we both find fit flops very comfy!

I can't wear flip flops as I have ankle instability and need support. I want something pretty to go with summer dresses. The last pair look pretty. Never heard of Gumbies, they look good for the beach.

Vionic shoes. They do a range of flat and heeled sandals - all with a orthotic insole. And they actually look good.

Be careful with Fitflops. Many years of wearing them have caused major issues in my knees and ankles. I actually thought I had really bad arthitis. They’re meant to be very bad for the flat footed especially.I didn’t realise this until I changed my shoes to Vionic ( and a orthotic insole) and I have no stiffness any more.

@Dalesgirl16 fit flops actually do a sandal without the toe posts etc. They don’t just have ordinary flip flops as you call them. They do a huge variety nowadays.

@teta you might want to also get your posture checked knee problems indicate weak glute muscles along with no hamstrings or back strength first and foremost.

I also think Vionics are good.

I have lived in fitflops from April to October for about ten years and think they have been part of my problem (of ankle instability due to repeated sprains) as there isn't any ankle support. Very hard to get out of slipping then on when I go out. I'm awaiting arrival of new orthotics after having had gait analysis and I also have plantar fasciitis.
