Best sun screen for acne-prone teenage skin?

Dd (15) has been prescribed a retinoid cream as well as acnecide and the pill in a last-ditch attempt to avoid roaccutane. The dermatologist warned that she’d be more likely to burn so stressed she’d need non pore-blocking sunscreen every day. Which ones work best? I don’t mind spending more if it means a happier dd

Am seeing a super pricey dermatologist and she recommended Elta-MD spf 46 (you can get it on Amazon). It actually fights acne, is very lightweight and does not break me out. About £35 but worth it!

Btw, thank you for taking your daughter's concerns about her acne seriously; my parents never did and I have been left with permanent scarring I am only now beginning to get rid of.

My twin sons are using a prescription retinoid cream as well as benzoyl peroxide. They're using Ultra sun as a sunblock - the face version. We used to have arguments about sunblock when they were younger, but this is invisible and doesn't seem to block pores, so they seem happy to use it.

I have rosacea, so it's a bit different, but I use an elta md sunblock, the uv physical (SPF 41) one as I can't tolerate chemical sunscreens. That's also non-comedogenic (spelling?) and very gentle.

Get an Asian formulation, they're excellent and designed for faces. Way ahead of our formulas as women there are very serious about sunscreen.

Biore watery essence or Etude House sunprise mild airy finish both spf50+ and light, easily absorbed and shouldn't make spots worse.

Jan Marini spf 30 was recommended to me by my derm when I was suffering with it in my 20's.

I still use only no oil products on my skin - la roche posay efflablur BB cream is very good for sunscreen and make up if she wants that. Only 20spf though.

I did roaccutane in the end and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I really like the Vichy anti-blemish one. I've tried a few. I also like the Avene Cleanance one and the La Roche Posay one but I think the Vichy one is my favourite out of all of them.

Thank you for all the recommendations - will check them out and see what she likes the look of. I’m really glad we insisted on a referral to the dermatologist - the GP thought she was borderline but because dd has anxiety made the referral and the dermatologist was brilliant - took her concerns seriously and dd felt so much better after seeing her, even though it’s early days with the new treatment so no results yet...
