Laser hair removal vs shaving

Since hitting my mid 40’s it’s a constant battle to remove my tache and chin hair. Every day I’m plucking plus regularly waxing and veetung. I seem to clear it then the next day there’s a long crop of hair come from nowhere.
Make up sits on the hairs. Some are soft and fair and others are thick and dark.
I’m torn between ordering a small lipstick type shaver on amazon or going for laser. Obviously shaving is much cheaper but it feels socially unacceptable somehow .
Has anyone experience of either?

I do both Blush
I've had to shave my chin and top lip for years so invested in a Philips lumea last year. Was a bit lacks using it as we lived somewhere very hot and your meant to stay out of the sun when you use it but got going with it again a few weeks ago and it's working.
Not quite there yet but a huge improvement and I think it will finally get rid of it.
Been doing underarms and bikini line too and they're working well.
It's an expensive initial outlay but I think it's worth it.

I think the Philips lumea is an ipl machine and from what I’ve read doesn’t work on fairer hair? Laser costs hundreds ( at least 500 for 10 sessions probably much more) vs 15 for a shaver . That’s the dilemma.
Do you get shaving rash/ stubble?

Look on groupon for laser. I got £600 treatment bundle for £100
.

Laser also doesn't work on fair hair. And if your hormones keep making the hair come back you can spend a fortune voice of bitter experience

What you are looking for is electrolysis.

User46942 · 28/06/2018 08:09

Oh really I thought laser did? Isn’t electrolysis treated hair by hair? That sounds like it would take forever = cost a fortune? Maybe the little shaver is worth a try.

It is treated hair by hair but you can do a lot of hairs in 20 minutes and it is a lot cheaper than laser/IPL. Plus it is permanent.

If you have hairs you want removing on your chin, upper lip, sides of face etc these would all be counted as different zones for IPL/laser and they tend to price per zone treated. While electrolysis price per minute - I had hair everywhere and electrolysis was loads more cost effective but you have to be v determined and stick with it.

Thanks I will look into this.

I have had laser on my bikini line and armpits. I had it done 11 years ago and it's brilliant. For my face I use a facial epilator.

Laser was brilliant for my underarms and legs. Face - not so much so. Clinic basically told me to cut my losses and they should stop taking my money.
